Biscuits and Gravy.....what are they?

So I was right, it is a Southern delicacy?

I can't fucking wait to get to the US for a nice long holiday to just eat. So many things I want to try over there.

Indeed. Every region, even city, has its own specialties. But I think the best eating town is New Orleans, especially for the money. It's probably the best drinking town too.

You just don't want to do dumb stuff, like ordering seafood in Kansas City, or Tex/Mex in Minneapolis, or wine in Des Moines. Or, as noted, biscuits and gravy from any McDonald's!

Surprisingly, Nashville has an excellent food scene. My cousin is a chef in NYC and said Nashville is s great place to eat.

It's also an excellent place to hear LOADS of live music from 11 a.m. - 4 a.m , get a few beers and unlike New Orleans doesn't smell like urine. Nashville a pretty clean city for the number of tourists it gets. It is also very inexpensive (at least from what I am used to on the east coast).

If you've not been I recommend it.

I like Nashville very much. Not surprised — it’s bustling these days. Lots of people moving there; one of my largest customers announced they were moving most of their people there from NYC just yesterday. Nashville much better than Charlotte, which claims “Queen of the South” status for reasons beyond understanding. My pop’s family is from Louisiana originally so I long ago learned to overlook the downsides of N.O.

Yeah? Where did you move to? :)
been living in the eastern part for almost 30 years. Have never seen so much as a confederate flag. Heavy Mormon influence, they love to adopt...love to adopt

get up in the panhandle, near the superfund sight, things can get a little squirly really fast
