I know all Blues must feel the same about the incessant bleating by all and sundry, in the papers, on the telly, at work, down the pub, they're all at it, 'the Sheikh has got more money that sense', 'City are ruining football', 'what will happen when your owners get fed up and walk away', 'it's obscene the way City are just buying success', 'you can't buy success', 'you have no history', and many, many more.
Well firstly, something that easily shows up a lot of these remarks to be worthless and quite stupid, is that when you consider from a purely business perspective, the money 'Blown' as they'd all like us to concede, is actually nothing but some kind of fictional nonsense.
Our Club has since the takeover, been developed so incredibly as a project, that if it were to be sold tomorrow, it would undoubtedly attain a fee of over a £1 Billion and probably more like £1.2 Billion or higher, which due to the amazing movement forward in the marketing of Manchester City globally, is also sure to climb much higher with the now almost guaranteed and imminent success. So for anyone to suggest the Sheikh and his team have spent silly money is just ludicrous. It appears to me, that if they pulled the plug now (which they won't), they'd be sure to make a few hundred million, even after their apparent flamboyant and wasteful splurges and big money signings, which would be in anyone's book, be a very tidy profit indeed.
Secondly, I believe that due to the amount of mega talent now on offer for those spectating our Premier league, our game will continue to prosper more than any other league in the World. Our riches, along with those of several other incredibly rich owners in the British game have inadvertently brought about through some good and sound investment, a much more level playing field throughout the top two tiers of our game.
This is clearly due to nothing but the same ridiculous spending, we amongst others have been heavily criticised for, however, but for this spending, and the wealth of tallent thus produced, the bonus to Clubs less well off would not have been faciltated. Numerous top quality players are now regularly being loaned to Clubs, and has meant they are now able to compete where once they would have stood no real chance at all. Sturridge, Ramsey, Bellamy, Onuoha, Cleverly, Hart, Wiltshire, Boyata, Welbeck, etc, etc, etc, have allowed many teams unable financially to stump up the cash required to purchase top class players and teams like: Bolton, Cardiff, Sunderland, Birmingham and Totenham to name but a few, have all benefited massively as a result. Football has never ever been a level playing field, but I believe, apart from maybe the current top 4, it's probably now much closer than at any time in it's history.
Thirdly, for all those saying that 'you can't buy success', 'You can't buy a team', 'teams have to be built', and 'you'll never have any history', well there's only one answer to that one, just fucking watch!
