i could care less about blair whether he want to clean his sole or not. the money will be of great use to service men and there family`s
The guy will quickly find out that no amount of money will buy him peace of mind and allow him to get a good night's rest.
£4m doesn't bring back the soldiers who have lost their lives, the soldiers who have been horrifically disabled or the 1,000,000+ civillians who have been killed for no reason other than their place of birth.
He makes me sick. I know that's a cliche but the very name of Tony Blair makes me feel like my stomach is jumping.
As if it wasn't bad enough...it's all for nothing. There isn't even a cause to which a grieving family can point to and say "my son died for that...and that makes it a little less painful".
The man should be at The Hague.

Blair should be facing a war crimes charge as far as Im concerned.

I understand the "damned if he does, damned if he doesn't" arguments.
But the first thing I thought when I saw this was "Why?"
And I am sorry to say but my gut reaction was "Atonement." And when you see service personnel being flown over in coffins every week that isn't good enough. This gesture is about Blair. Nothing more and nothing less.

The Iraq Body Count, Iraqi Health Ministry, Associated Press, and Iraq Family Health Survey (conducted by the WHO, using a similar methodology to the other surveys but with a larger sample size), came to the conclusion of between 100,000-151,000 (upper range: 223,000). Those are the ones I'd trust. The 1,000,000 is often quoted but can't be sustained. Then you extrapolate to 2010 based on the levels of violence in 2007 but violence levels have fallen substantially since then. The figures I have most respect for is the Iraq Body Count because they try to count every single death. They don't extrapolate based on survey samplings. It is certain that this methodology will result in a underestimation but their margins of error must surely be far more credible than an extrapolation based on a relatively small sampling.
