Blood in sick.....

If it's not coming out the other end it's probably just a result of your overindulgence. Take this as a lesson not to drink until you can't think, walk or talk.

TBF we have all done it but if it persists go straight to A & E.

And don't do it anymore unless it seems like a really good idea ;)

Mate, get it checked out it could be nothing to worry about, then again it could be H Pylori.
Don't leave it to chance like I did and find out the hard way!

The OP must be psychic as well as sick- I was going to post something similar.

I had a little blood in my vomit today at work. It was fairly bright but wasn't congealed. I was only sick twice but it was pretty forceful so I'm assuming it's just a result of straining too hard.

It looked like it was fresh (ish) and congealed.....

Just spoke to NHS direct and they said hospital now, but apparently they say that alot!

Just thought id throw it out to the bluemoon community!

I would say its from wrenching and you've burst a small blood vessel,Keep an eye on it and if you start coughing up more go to A&E.Actually for peace of mind maybe just go and get it checked out it's probably nothing but better safe :)

-- Mon Aug 02, 2010 10:13 pm --

WTF is H Pylori!?
It's bacteria in the gut.

Happens to me all the time if I'm suffering a really bad hangover (I wretch a lot when I brush my teeth, or if I spit a lot during swimming or running, so my chucking up reflex doesn't take much to get going!).

It's usually after the fourth or fifth hewie. I think it's probably a burst blood vessel or something from pretty violent chucking up episodes. It's only usually a little bit of blood at the end of all the spewing, usually with some of the bile that comes up. Usually get a sore gut for a day or two, and it usually goes.

If it passes in a day or two, you should be fine. If not, get to the docs. But to be fair, if you go to the docs and say "I've just been on a serious drinking binge and suddenly found I have blood when spewing up from a hangover", they probably won't stick a camera down there in panic, they'll probably give you some pills and shake their head at you. Vomiting actual blood is bad, having some blood in vomit at the end of a big spewing session isn't too much to worry bout.
