Bloody Gary Neville gets more reasonable by the day. WTF?

One of the best pundits on TV, I'd rather listen to him than Jamie Redknapp talk bollocks for five minutes without actually saying anything. I like Souness too.

The best I can say about him is that I begrudgingly accept he hasn't been the biased twat I expected him to be in front of the cameras. But even then, its all a fuckin act and when I hear City fans lavishing praise on him, I think its a bit of a kick in the teeth to those of us without short memories!! And for someone who supposedly hates scousers so much, he doesn't half fuckin look like one with that shit tache!! Horrible ****

He is actually a scouser though.

nah he's from Bury. and what someone said about him having to please the majority now that he's quit is spot on.

I beg to "dipper". He's got scouse heritage it was on A League Of Their Own.

From 7 minutes.

Defo rather him then Redknapp, Wilkins, Burley, Hansen, Shearer etc, etc. He talks sense and does not come across as a bitter biased twat. I couldn't care less what he 'really' thinks off camera so long as he gives us credit when its due on camera. Especially when so many are keen to de-stable our club I welcome his honest approach.

Pleased to read that some discerning people have written some acknowledgement of his in depth comments.

Imagine if one of our longest serving players, 600 games, became a top pundit, nd lavished praise on the reds, might upset a few morons on here, but he has been fair, honest and showed great insight into the game.

well done !

Exactly. Some people are missing the point here - the bloke is not just an ex-United player but also someone who grew up supporting them. As such, he's bound to hate us and what he thinks of us away from his job is irrelevant.

However, unlike some pundits - who have far less reason to dislike us than Neville does - he manages to put his loyalties to one side and evaluate things in an impartial way. And as dirty as I feel saying it, there's no doubting that his lack of bias on-screen coupled with his excellent punditry in general (away from when City are playing) makes him arguably the best pundit around.

Spot on analysis that. It's mad to think though as when he was announced many of us, myself included, face palmed thinking he would be a proper ****!
What Jamie Redknapp is on there for I don't know. All he does is try and get a stuttered point across, then buckle when one of the Gullit's or Souness' of this world corrects him. I could do a better job than Redknapp.

Yeah, I didn't exactly have high hopes for him myself either. Not just with regards to any potential bias but also his perceived lack of charisma.

Jamie Redknapp seems a nice enough bloke but his punditry is awful - it makes me laugh the amount of times he's talking and he ends up trying to get one of the others to back up his point as though he isn't sure of himself - "You've seen it when you used to play haven't you Gary?" or words to that effect.

He did a little example on how to play against Bellamy, it was the sort of thing you could only describe if you have marked him in a game. It was really insightful and made me think differently about the game.

I remember him being a petulant fucker as a rag player, but apart from his inability to grow a tache and rat-like features, I cannot ever recall him doing anything to really hurt City fans. Footballing wise or verbally. Everyone remembers the badge kissing infront of the dippers at the swamp, but I don't recall anything remarkable against us. Is there a smoking gun that I have missed or is it the early onset of alzheimer's?
