Blue Alliance Survey Results - SING UP FOR THE CHAMPIONS

Ok, here's the update for you all. It's a sustained co-ordinated approach - not calling it a "campaign" but an approach under the strapline SING UP FOR THE CHAMPIONS led by the blue alliance but backed by the club

You'll be seeing reference to it on the club's website together with details of how everyone can get involved.

Away fans cannot be moved together so club to regard South Stand and Kippax as the 2 singing sections, separated by away fans but working together in lots of ways.

Swansea at home we're getting 5,000 leaflets done for the pubs and the turnstiles - our members will distribute. club want us to do this so it's not got the club's hands all over it.

Following fans' feedback we asking fans to get into their seats 10 mins before kick off for Ajax. They'll play right here right now early so people know to take their seats. the PA will say "sing up for the champions" then the PA will go off for 5 mins whilst the fans have a chance to sing and get it going. Uefa music to start up again when teams appear.

Real Madrid at home. it's gonna look great that's all I can say.

We are gonna ask for feedback so any fan with any idea can get involved. We take the snapshots of opinion after home games, chat with club about what's worked. implement new ideas as we go along.

More stuff on youtube from TBA filming the atmosphere in various parts of the ground, getting that on the MCFC youtube channel. getting the songs to a wider audience so that when kippax and ss start up, the songs carry better.

An attempt to get fans in other parts of the ground to sing up too, but an attempt to take those people with us, not just try and guess what people want.

TBA presence at points of blue and other regular interactions between club and fans

Club saw how Real Madrid interact with their fans and will continue to accomodate banners flags we get done. Hopefully they'll be up permanently in SS and fans can vote on what message goes up there.
They are keen to find long term solutions.

Good stuff mate. Sincere well done for your work.

Great stuff!

Hey you know those club made flags that three or four fellas wave in front of the East Stand before games? Next time you speak to the club could you ask them if they'll group them all in one area/cluster together in or in front of the Singing Section or the South Stand? rather than have them dotted about on their own along the East Stand like they are now and have just been copied from what Chelsea do.

As a note on where singers/singing areas should be, since the away fans wont be moving (can understand why the club/police don't want to move them), i reckon we should encourage the whole of East Stand Level 1 to become a colourful, flag-ful, singing area from 101-111. I've weighed up how many fans stand and sing at big away followings and from Blackburn to Old Trafford cup games to Wembley you're talking anything from 7000-20000 fans willing to fully participate in a good atmosphere at a City game, yet we don't allow/encourage that to happen at our own stadium. There are probably just a snide 3000 spaces available in the Singing Section and South Stand (Level 1 areas where the noise is) put together. This is FAR too few in number.

This idea might be for another day, or ongoing over a few years. But i reckon it's such a big thing to look into. The South Stand don't have to move, but all those thousands of fans who participate in special away atmospheres for City are probably dotted here there and everywhere around the stadium in ones and twos...maybe it's time to have a real Singing Section at City?!

As i say 3000 at City...12000 at SheffUtd, 12000 at Liverpool, 14500 at Villa, 5044 at Stockport!

Anyway, good work on what's upcoming. Looking forward to all of it!

dan, you were a member last season, could do with you down again, feet on the street etc, getting the flyers out

what we are doing initially - the PA system request, creating awareness amongst the fans was a direct result of the feedback the fans gave us, so whilst on saturday we'll be able to take ideas / suggestions again, we have the next couple of games mapped out and after spurs at home we will throw it open again for further ideas

people put ideas on the thread but in terms of collating them in one go, we go off our meetings, and the emails directly back into the survey - plus of course when we attend Points Of Blue meetings it's a direct chance to take/listen to feedback from fans who want to speak directly to us / the club. we've taken a majority view ie most people wanted the PA system / match day build up to give the fans a chance to sing and build up momentum, that's what we've asked the club to do

anyway with the focus on ajax now, this will pick up steam again on friday when the club themselves will take our message to a wider audience

sat 27th 2pm - waldorf - if you've not been to a blue alliance meeting then come along, it's upstairs at the waldorf, not all the main people will e there actually however you can join (£10) and get involved straight away
