Sound like a good, practical idea to me.

I've always wanted a better version of blue moon played before a match at the stadium. Currently we can sing along for 20seconds until the rock part begins and kills off the decent singing we just got going.
Why not play a version of the whole song blue moon where fans can sing along?? obviously when it's time for chorus everybody can join in but those familiar with the words can sing throughout the song too??

edit: at Hamburg they played a very good version some half an hour before the game. shame I don't know who played it. does anyone remember/know?

Good shout that man.

The club needs to look at and to reevaluate that version of Blue Moon. Either rework it so the sing along section is longer, or look at other versions of Blue Moon, or do away with it all togther and let the fans sing while the teams are preparing to start the match.

BTW. What's the point in asking for feedback when you don't reply to PM's? I'll leave it at that. :-)(mutters under his breath)

yes good call, been saying this for a long time... Just as scarfs are held up and singing starts the fast version starts ! Get the old versiomn back...

To get the atmosphere better it has to be the fans ideas not the clubs PA or the guy that wonders round with microphone ! ( sorry dont know his name ) The fans know what we all want...<br /><br />-- Fri Oct 19, 2012 3:01 pm --<br /><br />Lets start at west brom tomorrow away with some long chants, evrybody wear colours................

I'm not in the best position to comment on what we can do, I only make it up to watch City a few times a season but I'd love to have the best atmosphere, and when I'm older I'll be at the Etihad as much as possible.

But I was concerned, what happens if the singing doesn't happen after the PA says "Sing up for the Champions"? Won't it be even more embarrassing?

Well if that happens then it will be a definitive statement that something is wrong with the overall atmosphere and will give the club/BA/Citizens more to think about. But I think enough sound will come from the two singing areas that there will be at least some noise, even if the rest of the stadium opts not to join in. My only concern is Ajax fans can be deafening and might quickly drown us out like the BVB fans did whenever we tried matching them.

Which is why I thought that should be our first aim - find out how these bastards create such noise with so few of them. I suppose its just a willingness and restriction-less thing.

Not sure if it was the BA, but whoever the lads were at the back of the stand today were outstanding. Kept the atmosphere going all game, especially second half with "I said Blue Moon". One of the best domestic away games of recent times.

I can happily say I was one of them

can we get a quick snapshot here, the plan is to get fans in early and turn the PA off against ajax so that our fans can disrupt the ajax fans building up momentum and so we can build our own

the club are also saying they can do the same thing for swansea at home. ie turn the PA off for 5 mins before kick off, provided people get to their seats 10 mins before kick off.

what's the view on doing this before swansea as well, 5.30pm ko, and not sure how many swansea are bringing, do we feel this is worth doing too?

could do with immediate opinions on this, cheers

If you do it at Swansea then it will have a bigger effect against Ajax as the majority of people will know what is happening. Think it would be a bit shit the first time whilst people go "wheres the music" then the next game "the music is off again lets sing"

Just thought for BA guy's.

Why not try and put some idea's for home games into play for the away's first.
My thinking is you could video thing's and see if it can spread to the home game crowds.

Its easier to try and get some organised visual, and verbal support with 2000/3000 away fan's first of all ?

I'm sure Dortmund / Aris / Hamburg will have started with their away day hardcore support before it spread to the home games. All the best song/poznan started at away games!

Thoughts ??

the best bet is to have the singers away from the away fans, all the ultra type group are away from the away fans.

I don't know whether this will happen but if it were too it would best be in the family stand or somewhere like that were the BA and The Citizens can be together and sing away from the away fans.

Everyone has discussed moving the away fans that isn't going to happen its us that need to move. That is what The Citizens main goal is create a group of singers that can move there. Weather it happens or not who knows but there is no harm in trying, the BA did a great job yesterday by the way.

If anyone wants the atmosphere to improve, then join the BA and The Citizens, Both trying to achieve the same but both trying different routes which I think is great.

Who else agree that the singers should not be next to away fans. If not please tell why.

Should we not be encouraging all areas of the ground to sing? A singing section in the North Stand would probably get the rest of the stand singing as well, which is good. However, it isn't essential that all singers are moved out of the South Stand/ current singing section.

I know people got fed up with the poznan but that would get the whole ground involved. The more reserved fans start jumping then naturally carry on singing. I think it was the Wolves game when we went 4.1 up (finished 4-3?), after the poznan the whole stadium was singing together.
