His first two solo albums are good: Try Whistling This (1998) and One Nil (2001).It took me a long time to realise how good Crowded House are, I think I had some unaccountable unconscious bias against them. Having belatedly "discovered" them though over the last year or so I love some of their stuff. I think the Beatles comparison isn't overstating the quality of their work.
I dare say I'll get round to listening to listening some more Neil Finn at some point, a recommendation on where to start wouldn't go amiss although Spotify top tracks is always a default option.
Don McGlashan came up on the random tracks on Spotify after I'd played my own playlist, I can't remember which song but it wasn't one I got into.
I've not been too fussed about his more recent stuff and he's kind of dropped off the radar for me now.
However, I mentioned it above because I honestly think the best Finn album of this century is Liam Finn's I'll be Lightning. That was from 2007, and I've not been too impressed with what he's done since but that album is outstanding.
