Possibly the first ever one hit wonder?
He's a well respected 20th century composer but I have to admit I couldn't name another of his works.
I remember reading somewhere that the bloke who wrote Daisy Bell (Daisy, Daisy give me your answer do...,) had a massive 'hit' with it but was so hacked off with sheet music piracy that he sacked it all off. No idea if that's true or not.
Anyway thanks for this theme, gives me an opportunity to correct a glaring ommision from the recent jazz playlist.
