Another couple in there that could have easily ended up on my list.

Would have expected the doors to finish much higer imo.

For a change, there isn’t a Manc band in sight and only three from Britain: Radiohead, The Arctic Monkeys and the perennially popular Queen.

From the US, we have a combination of indie/punk acts with The Pixies, The Ramones and REM plus rock superstars, The Doors.

We’re also handing out the final Australasian medals here. Joining Crowded House on the podium are hard rockers AC/DC grabbing the silver and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds being crowned top Aussie act. It’s interesting that Nick Cave was nowhere up until the last two days of voting, when a flurry of support lifted him and his band to the lofty heights of #31.

From here on in, we’re down to just four countries (Manchester being one of them for the purposes of this list).

It's not REM I have the problem with - it's Radiohead ...... higher than The Doors and REM (and quite a lot of others in the lower placings ...... or not in the Top 100 at all).

Queen are the only band in my top 15; AC/DC were on the considered but probably more top 25 for me.
