Their individual records were too uneven for them to make my top 15 but their best stuff — which there’s plenty of — is tremendous. Still like Houses of the Holy best of all. A band that always sounded like they were having fun. My top 5: Kashmir, When The Levee Breaks, The Ocean, The Song Remains The Same and the brilliant and massively underrated disco smash Carouselambra.

Surprised they aren’t higher though.

That was the one album I didn't enjoy on a recent listen. Couldn't decide whether it was serious of they were all tanked up and trying to do Bob Marley impressions.

I saw them around 74 in Newcastle and they were good. Then must have been 2018 at the Glasgow Hydro. Townsend still has it but Daltry was poor. The band as a whole going through the motions.

Daltrey doesn't have the voice for it anymore - they should be working through their back catalogue for the hidden gems that don't require him to roar like a lion anymore.

Like Music must change.......

They did a James Brown impression too on The Crunge. I just enjoy it because they’re screwing around, some of the licks are iconic, and two of my five favo(u)rites are on it :)

True, saw the live concert of Tommy on TV recently, his voice wasn't the same. Never tire of hearing this though.

Yes, they said so, and Carouselambra (on ITTOD) was too. I’m not in love with No Quarter on HOTH TBH. I know their true fans love it though.

Question for those that were a youth or young man in the sixties or seventies. Did you vote for any acts from the eighties and beyond?

As a youth of the nineties, this period heavily influenced my voting quite simply as this was my era. I don't now listen to anything from 2010 onwards.

I'm guessing that the demographics of this poll is going to influence the order of the top ten
