Blue Shirt, Blue Shorts, White Socks?

Cunts. I remember navy shorts and white socks from those bastards in the 90's. It was either that and niall quinn wore them, or the England team. Interchangeable kits is obviously a brand new thing because Nike are wankers. Constant attempts to be original are because some people have cash to burn and buy 3 new shirts a season, when I was a kid it was away one season, home the next, my dad and grandad didn't even have that.

Agree in general though, to me city colors are blue /white /navy, away either maroon or the red and black stripes. The white shirt with the sash looked smart and for a third, hi vis yellow why not.
What?!?

These teams changed and stuck with the new colours though? Can't think of many teams who change their colours every season like us. There wasn't even a splash of white in last season kit (except the 3 stripes on the badge). There'd be uproar if United changed their socks to white or red.

I think we're also making it difficult to create an consistent 'brand' and an iconic, recognisable strip.
I agree, but what if someone decided that we'll have blue shorts for next 50 years? I doubt anyone will but that would match with what LFC did, although at no point in 1964 did Shankly say 'aye lad, we'll wear these for next 50 years'. Football kits matter and for many they mean more than the badge - the colour should be consistent generation after generation. Trims, styling, length of shorts can and should change as fashion/sport design develops, but colours matter to fans and identity.

This is what it looks like if we have blue shirt, white shorts, and navy blue socks. I for one think this combination looks best.

I don't really mind the different combinations of colours for our home strip ad long as they don't stray too far off the 'traditional' uniform (in fact I quite like the white socks and shorts with the blue top, but I digress). What affects me more than anything is the branded uniform to serve the Nike evil empire. Wearing the colour, colour, different colour socks Nike branded uniform leaves a very bad taste for me. I remember when Liverpool had Adidas tops in the nineties and they had the 3 large stripes over the shoulders, Sweden played in the same top ( just different colours). There were many others as well who played in the same Adidas style, different combination strips. Now that is the true definition of losing your identity to a corporation, shame that we may be following suit.

Question to the fashionistas - when was the last time we had navy socks with the home kit?
It's funny reading bluemoon gives an impression navy socks are popular, but when we had a vote not so long ago navy came a distant 3rd behind sky blue and white. Not sure which thread that was in now.
