Make the Champions League final next year and with a bit of tweaking of the lyrics we can sing....we're off to Ger-many, Ger-many, Ger-many

You have to question the opinion of a 'City Fan' who's only managed to find the biggest MCFC forum that's been around well over 6 years in May 2011 !
Jesus, it's not been produced by Brian Eno with hundreds of thousands of pounds invested in it ! It's a guy who's written a song for our Wembley appearance and I happen to think as a football song its excellent and deserves far more recognition. Of course music is subjective but it seems as it stands your in the minority, but thanks for sharing your considered opinion.
For me, the lyrics are excellent, and is a must for any City fan who wants something they can listen to that will trigger the memories of the two best days of my City supporting life.

I guess its personal taste but listening to the lyrics it just sums up everything about being a blue - even takes us back to 99 with Dickov. Very very clever how the lyrics tied it all together, and I love the melody too.
This song deserves some recognition, I've downloaded it and made a donation to the charity, with the thousands of blues out there he should have raised far more than the £250 odd quid he's raised currently.
Yes I have 'listened' to the lyrics and I still think it's shit. As a poster mentioned earlier football related songs are notorously difficult to get right and even the holy grail of football songs, World In Motion, edges towards being cringeworthy when John Barnes opens his mouth. I am a huge fan of early 10cc but the lyrical and musical genius of Godley & Creme sadly evaded them when they wrote and recorded The Boys In Blue, a dreadful song.
As for the charity, that's a completely different matter and a very worthwhile cause but it doesn't save the song from being shit.
You think its sh*t I happen to think its sh*t hot !
You certainly can't state your opinion as fact. (at least that's teh way you've come across) I happen to think most R&B is sh*t but I know there are millions of people who love it worldwide and its arguably one of the most popular musical genres.
That said, irrespective of your subjective view of the song, I find it hard to fathom how you can be so disparaging of a song that lyrically is exceptional. (imo of course) and captures the essence of the thoughts and feelings of many City fans about the recent Wembley finals so well.
It certainly made the hairs on my neck stand up and brought back all the wonderful memories of the day.
From my perspective I fail to understand how it didn't stir any emotions inside you except - Its sh*t - glad you're not my boss if that's the only feedback you can give.
read the post properly you titSuper Ned said:"just like chaz n dave" and like that, so went the clowns credibility
