Bluemoon Angling Thread

Finished with 3 bream but that was the biggest. Caught loads of roach but biggest other fish was a hybrid of about a pound.

River is really on form. My mate had 8 barbel amongst a load of other fish. Just before packing in I walked down to his swim and he handed me his rod and said "here, catch a barbel". I cast out and he said "you're in chub city there mate". In the next 25 minutes had 3 chub between 4 and 5lbs and lost a barbel in a snag.

Short day tomorrow as a job has just come in so we're after a perch of 2lbs+ with the last of the maggots .

Wow. I had no idea the Calder held fish like that. So their main natural food is other trout (and worms obv). I knew the wharfe held lumps that can be caught on streamers when fly fishing. The biggest wild brown I have caught so far would struggle to reach 4lb. I took one off Linlithgow Loch a few years back that was a lovely fish. Yeah, would appreciate an image f you have the time. This is going to be some film!
I looked at the downloaded film this morning and it’s all there. Even me saying “what the fuck is this?” As it flies off downstream on camera. Was about to grab a screenshot and found out my house was flooded for a burst pipe and had to run home. I’ll put up a pic tomorrow when I get in the office.
