We had shit bad luck today and the moment that our forwards start capitalising on the dominance we have then we'll eat up the points and get back on top. I'm a tad concerned by our jinx at the SoL but I'm not overly-concerned for our season.

What's the hoo har about?
Excellent post.

Having a bit too much of this "bad luck" as you call it,but I agree we have a jinx at SOL as well as Goodison, were we still have to go,as for not being overly concerned of our season...........I fucking am

And for the record I do class myself as a seasoned supporter

It's worrying because , in my opinion, really top teams don't have 'jinx' grounds or 'bad luck'
Mancini is now blaming the ref, when in reality the whole team seemed to stop and wait for the foul to be given. Top managers don't do that. Top teams don't do that

Poor attitude is what it's down too because we have the talent

What utter bollox. I've never posted this before but I'm just back from Sunderland and am still annoyed about our performance, as was every other City fan up there I spoke to, so think its about time people knew. When we had that run of draws under Hughes, he was at the regular strategy meeting he had with the senior management team. He was asked by Cook what he planned to do in order to change things and turn it round. He said he didn't really plan to do anything as we'd just been a bit unlucky. And that statement earned him his P45. Our owner and executive management don't believe in "bad luck", certainly not on anything other than a very occasional basis.

They might even feel that we've actually had some luck on our side as we could very easily have conceded a penalty against Reading or had the goal disallowed. Ba could have scored with that second chance he skied and Santon might have cleared Garcia's header for the second goal. They might feel that our goalkeeper hasn't been unlucky but in fact needs a big kick up his extremely complacent arse. They might feel that our attacking players haven't been a bit unlucky but in fact are quite content playing a safe pass instead of taking some responsibility for opening up an opposition defence.

They might even feel that a manager who very nearly threw away the title last season and whose team was humiliated by an Ajax team that cost less than Vincent Kompany wasn't unlucky but actually wasn't that good.

So don't give me that shit about bad luck.

Agree with this. Dissenting opinions on Bluemoon apparently make you a rag or a young fan who wasn't there in the bad old days (when most of us were). There are problems at Manchester City right now (Mancini: "but we have this problem"). No they aren't scrapping in a relegation battle but the whole context of our situation is different now and we're staring a 9pt or 10pt gap in the face if we don't beat Norwich.

We should be playing much, much better than we are this season after all the investment, we are one of the few 'major' clubs in Europe whose best football seems to be a novelty instead of a regular thing. People were overjoyed with our performance against Newcastle and with good reason - but a top club should be able to play at such a standard regularly, not once every blue moon.

Exactly... the gang who are shocked with people questioning football played at the moment and those responsible about that enjoy thinking they're cool and big blues if they post hoe they don't doubt anyone and how they're still behind this and that and usual crap.

It's under-performing of very high order for most of this season and only fools won't ask questions.

Seconded and from someone who was there. Well said.

The clock is ticking for Mancini unless he has a spectacular run of results.

When is a crisis a crisis ?

Out the League Cup,Champions League,Europa League and 7 points behind in the Premiership. and Playing dull painfully slow one dimensional and very predictable football in the process.

I am not one for over reacting, but feck me this is worrying.

I read threads like do you still think we can win the league. My major concern right now is not winning the League,it is finishing in a Champions League spot this season.I mean come on this is simply not good enough.

Don't get me wrong by the way. I desperately want Mancini to be here for a long time and make us one of the best teams in Europe. I want him to do what Baconface has done and fine tune a group of players to make them a formidable team then build another squad and do the same thing. But he has to build on last season and, bit by bit, make us better and make the whole greater than the sum of the parts. But I'm not seeing that. We don't even look equal to the sum of our parts at the moment.

At the moment Manchester United are better than us but hopefully that won't be the case in May.

I don't believe they are. We were the better team for most of the derby and we battered Sunderland today whilst they struggled against a poor Newcastle team. Results don't always go the way they should but, as you say, by May the right balance will hopefully be restored.
When they struggle they win.
