Can't find the original thread so started a new one.
A couple of members have expressed an interest of starting a private game for us bluemooners. As some people know we had one going so I'll post this and see if we can drum up enough interest to get it going again.

You are invited to join our private poker club for Home Games online.

- If you don't already have it, download the free PokerStars software
from <a class="postlink" href="http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/download/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/download/</a>
- Open the main poker lobby, then click on the Home Games tab
- Click the 'Join a Poker Club' button
- Enter our Club ID number:53620
- Enter our Invitation Code: blueandproud

That's it! Once I've approved your membership request, we'll be ready to start playing Home Games online together.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We generally play $6.75 knockouts, the breakdown of that is $5 towards the pot, 0.50 rake and $1.25 bounty which means if I knock you out I win your bounty and visa-versa.

IF ANYONE WANTS TO JOIN THE CLUB AND PLAY POKER BUT IS WORRIED ABOUT IT COSTING MONEY TO LEARN THEN SIMPLY OPEN AN ACCOUNT, DO NOT DEPOSIT ANY MONEY AND CONTACT ME, I CAN SET UP PRIVATE TABLES THAT USES PLAY MONEY. I'LL TRY AND JOIN IN AND GET SOME BM POKER CLUB MEMBERS TO PLAY TOO. THIS WAY YOU CAN LEARN TO PLAY OR HOW TO USE THE POKERSTARS SOFTWARE WITHOUT IT COSTING ANYTHING

Re: Bluemoon online poker tourney

We used to play $5 SnG knockouts which cost a total of $6.75 to enter, $5+ 50c rake and $1.25 bounty on each players head. We could continue with this or if anyone has any suggestions then stick them down on here.

Re: Bluemoon online poker tourney

Signed up :)

Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays are probably best for me

Re: Bluemoon online poker tourney

I might be able to drop in, but only if PokerStars allows US log-ins.

Carbon Poker (where I just created an account in the last 48 hours) does, so if you wanted to try taking something over to there I'd be happy to attend.

stick your name down if you want to play, what nights are best for playing a game and I'll register a tourney.
cheers.

PokerStars is off-limits to US-based players.

However, Carbon Poker which I just joined 48 hours ago isn't.

If the group would like to consider taking a look at Carbon Poker it would make Bluemooner's based over here eligible to play (Carbon accepts deposits from credit cards - don't ask me how, but they do; and I'd say around 80% of their clientele from what I've seen so far are North Americans)

Here are some of the more unusual (and interesting) features Carbon Poker has:-

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.carbonpoker.com/features/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.carbonpoker.com/features/</a>

- oh yeah, and they have these animated emoticons that are great for taking the piss!

(this screen shot won't show the animation, or the guns you can shoot at people, but there are around two dozen zany things you can do)

<br /><br />-- Mon Jul 04, 2011 8:27 pm --<br /><br />a review of Carbon is here:-

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.beatthefish.com/poker-reviews/carbon-poker-review.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.beatthefish.com/poker-review ... eview.html</a>

CARBON POKER BONUS CODE FOR 150%: BTF750. Our new Carbon Poker players are now eligible for a private 150% bonus with a massive cap of $750. This is more than the standard bonus amount and can only be claimed by players signing up via our links and using the BTF750 bonus code at the cashier.

One of the most pleasant success stories to come out of the poker market in recent years has to be Carbon Poker. With its roots as a gimmicky brand for freeroll hunters Carbon Poker has emerged as one of the top players in the US poker market with a large amount of strong features for more serious players. With US poker rooms dropping out of the market left and right Carbon Poker has shown a sincere commitment to remaining open to US players, which is important in our rankings. The extremely poor player quality at Carbon Poker is also a breath of fresh air from the increasingly tight tables found elsewhere online.

Besides allowing US players, the excellent private bonus for our players, improving tournament schedule, busier cash games, and one of the best software packages online makes Carbon Poker one of our top-rated poker rooms in a number of key categories. The aforementioned bonus has actually been more than tripled over the standard offer for our new Carbon Poker players to 150% with a maximum cap of $750. Depending on your deposit amount this has the potential to be one of the largest total dollar bonuses online.

Previously, one of the weakest aspects of Carbon Poker was the paltry player traffic, which affected both cash games and tournament attendance. With the sizable influx of US players looking for a new home Carbon Poker actually now provides some of the highest traffic levels of any US poker room. Combined with the much looser-than-average player quality the cash games can be extremely profitable for experienced players. While it doesn't have the brand recognition of some of the longer-tenured sites Carbon Poker should seriously be considered by players who prioritize easy deposits, strong software, and loose tables.

Is Carbon on the Merge network? the software looks the same, I played a while on Playersonly on the merge network and I enjoyed it, a lot of value for money MTT's. Its a ball-ache cashing out though.
