Airplane 61st!
That's a good set.Now that’s a better selection of films. 2 of them would have made my top 20 but all 5 are in my ‘watched more than 3 times’ list which is always a good indicator of how much I enjoyed it.

Some good films in there, my pick would be Cool Hand Luke, gritty story and superb supporting cast including the great George Kennedy. Have seen all of them more than once so cannot complain, although none are in my twenty.
You have got to hand it to Stallone, even with his limited ability he has created two enduring screen icons in Rocky and Rambo and deserves credit for that. The first role I can remember him in was as a character called "Machine Gun Joe Viterbo" in the original Death Race 2000 film, which starred David Carradine, and was made in about 1975. Which I saw on release at the cinema as a wide eyed eleven year old.
I have a good feeling that this thread will start hotting up and dividing opinions as we approach the top twenty. I have only had one pick so far so am hopeful that they are all to come, but even if they dont, there will still be films I love, I am sure.
Strange to think that before Airplane! Leslie Nielsen was only considered for dramatic roles.

Stallone is like Springsteen -- I completely get his appeal, but as a Californian, not really my bag. He's more a northeastern American. Damn near a different country. He's of his place, as Springsteen is.
He was in a early Columbo and I couldn’t stop laughing.Strange to think that before Airplane! Leslie Nielsen was only considered for dramatic roles.
Yeah, was going to say that much as Iove Airplane!, Top Secret is better and like you say, some of the gags are first class. And then did the Naked Gun films! And George Kennedy was so upset at himself that he turned down the chance to spoof himself in Airplane that he demanded to be in the Naked Gun films.
Robert Stack is also so good in this as Rex Kramer. "Keep 'em at 24,000 . . . . . no, feet."
While Airplane II was kind of disappointing, one of the best ZAZ films was Top Secret!, with Val Kilmer in his first role. Very, very funny with some outstanding sight gags -- arguably the best collection of sight gags in any movie I've seen
