Fantastic film for me, easily one of my all time favs.

Not for me but I can understand why folk like it.
Only 2 of my movies were from the 80's.
One from 1980 and the other 1981.
Saving Private Ryan made it 6 movies in the top 100 for me.

It's a great film with some over the top performances and some dodgy music. What's not to like?

Not in my top 20 but a great film to watch when you are hung over on a Sat/ Sun afternoon.

The "juice" comes from the 70's (five) & the noughties (nine)

The majority of them won't show up, as they are "forin" muck.

Think its probably my favourite decade for films, got 6 or 7 in my top 20 from the 80's. My top 2 as well (Stand by Me and BTTF) are 80's as well.

When I saw Tarkovsky I never went back to Kubrick. Too cold. Too sterile and clinical. Not for me.

I'm okay with both of them. For me, Kubrick's technique worked well in Dr Strangelove and A Clockwork Orange.

Incidentally, if you haven't seen it, Larisa Shepitko's The Ascent is a film you might enjoy if you are a fan of Tarkovsky.

Depends what you want out of a film suppose. Sometimes it's nice to just enjoy a film without having to think too much.
Loved it as a kid and passes my 'would I watch it more than 3 times' test with flying colours.

I enjoyed it as a kid too. Fairly run of the mill Hollywood though.
Top 20 in a film list is a big surprise to me though.


I suppose who am I to act shocked.
I put The Jungle Book at number 20 for nostalgic personal reasons.

recorded this and just watched, wow! it's a proper freaky film, the flashbacks and the twin girls are terrifying

superb and twisted, loved it. Jack Nicholson at his best.
