The Sopranos is a great series, I had it at number nine but am not surprised its top three as it ticks a lot of boxes for a lot of viewers.

I now have seven unaccounted for with only two places left and think only one will be there(I have not seen Breaking Bad yet). That list of the next thirty to "not quite make it" or whatever it is should be as interesting as the top ten.

Surprising omissions from the 100 for me(providing they are not top two) are.........Family Guy, Waking the Dead, and Inspector Morse, of course thats just my opinion.

In a way I am glad to have a few not here because, it means that maybe my tastes are a little different from the norm, it would have been easy to choose a twenty to all make the 100 for the sake of it. Also, your experience of a series can be affected by the period in your life that you watched it, and the attention you could afford it at that time, making revisiting something and appreciating it more a possibility.

I,m sure we have all been guilty of dissing something without giving it a chance, and this thread has reminded me of a few I have to confess.

For anyone who still hasn’t seen The Sopranos, I would caution that Season 1 isn’t, in my estimation, quite up to the same standard as the later ones in my view (though it is still very good).

After that, it’s superb.

I had Morse in my 20. As I've never watched a second of what looks like being the top three it's no surprise that only half of my 20 made the top 100.

Having probably watched it through about 10 times, as it's heavily story / character driven I believe you still enjoy it regardless of knowing the outcome..........

there's no real ending, it just fades out! so i don't see how that can spoil it for you.

a must watch, it really is.

I wouldn’t say it fades out, it’s very abrupt and in my view the best ending to a series ever.

I thought The Sopranos would be number 1 or 2; I had it as my #1. Perhaps it didn't have enough action in it for some?

Anyway, a marvellous show that I did get into early in its run. As much a family drama as anything, which made it very different.

If I remembered correctly, the 1st ep would premiere on E4 Sunday night, then repeated on Monday on CH4.
