Blues attacked by Utd fans get banned

Surely this report isn't claiming that the legendary red army ran away even though they had the numbers in their favour. Some mistake I would have thought as they never run and never attack fewer numbers!

The prisons are full of people who have done nothing wrong .does nt matter what sort of reputation the lads have or have not got but un fortuantly the prosecution would have highlited any faults the lads might have

From reading the report it appears only one had previous and one definately had no previous convictions.

The same thing happened in Yates about 20 years ago before a Derby twice as many of the scum but they still ran of & got chased all round Picciadilly same result though as loads of City fans got arested

It leaves a lot of questions unanswered in my mind. How long after the match was it, how many attacked the pub and how did they get to the pub?

It was a high profile match with a large police presence, maybe a helicopter, but they failed to spot a large group of men walking two miles??

All quite high profile supporters so a ban was always on the cards. Police on there case for a while.

Pretty much this. Think the police were happy to let the Rags go as long as they caught these lot and had them banned. I only know one of them and he's a good lad. Police have been on him for ages. Think there's more to this story than is told in the MEN aswell and the landlady has alot to answer for.

If this was a situation where none football fans were drinking and the pub was attacked in the same manner and they use the same tatics to defend them selves then it is probable there would not have been one arrest. It would hve been deemed as using reasonable force and the press would have been calling them heroes.
However when you are a football fan you have no rights what so ever and you are guilty whatever the Police and courts decide to acuse you of.

errrr where are the banning orders for the rags that started the trouble? the ones that started throwing shit through the windows in the first place at some innocent drinkers in a bar? not the the ones vastly outnumbered and trying their best to keep the rag hoolie scum fuckers at bay?

justice my fucking arse

"Walsh, a pipe fitter who was jailed in 2003 for taking part in an race attack that sparked the Oldham riots" - Bad grammar from the M.E.N but its hard to feel sorry for a Blue who took part in race attacks. Does seem extremely unfair why they have been punished for defending themselves though.
