Blues in the Stretford End ‘92

was there the year before when we lost 1-0. In their main stand not being quiet. couple of rags starting gobbing off, so just offered them the opportunity to come and shut me up. As you can imagine i stayed until the final whistle, still standing and singing City songs etc, completely fine. Numbers is all they've ever had.

I was in New Zealand.... didn't even know the game had been played.
Was the original game a week or 2 before postponed for waterlogged pitch?
Got a NZ newspaper the day after the game and it had a 1-1 result in it!
The game should originally have been played four weeks earlier (as part of a scheduled midweek programme) but was moved because the rags had to rearrange a postponed League Cup semi-final first leg at Middlesbrough which in turn led to the second leg at the swamp having to be played on the night when the derby should have happened. League Cup final was played a lot later in the season during the 90s (in mid April), not that we ever got close to needing to worry about that!
Someone else may have pointed this out but this was the last derby played in the old First Division.

I was in there for giggs' debut against us - there was loads of space to mooch around and congregate with other blues - unlike the kippax on derby days where you couldn't move. I guess their 5 billion fans were doing something else that day, or was that before football was invented?
I can recall all-ticket derbies there where their TO was still selling tickets for the home terraces not long before KO. Their support is a fucking myth, like the "United way".
