Well we've had a fascinating 3 weeks since the last update and a lot of interesting developments have lead to a shift in the table. Big Phil has obviously starred with back to back wins that also triggered the 3 win bonus to net his teams over 2,000 points for 2 weeks work. His first Open Championship is a very popular and deserved triumph for such a talented golfer and nice man. Graeme McDowell also triggered the 3 win bonus with his excellent win at the French Open and netted over 1,000 points for this period, as did Henrik Stenson who put in several superb performances to finish in the top 3 in both the Scottish and Open Championships. Meanwhile in the USA Jordan Speith broke through to win his first PGA title and he will definitely be one to watch in the coming years. All this means that staggeringly PhuketBlue has been caught and we have a new leader at the top of the table:

Due to the fact that the big points were taken by only a few golfers you either scored really heavily in the past few weeks or hardly at all. The Semi-Finals of the BM Golf Cup also took place at The Open, here are the results:
BM Golf Cup
Semi-Finals-Results
PhuketBlue 635-395 The cookie monster
leighton 350-1420 Brisblu
So the final is going to be at the US PGA in 2 weeks time and it will be the long time leader of the competition and seemingly unbeatable force against the team that had to make it through a playoff and has shot up the table by performing at the big tournaments. A David v Goliath final.
BM Golf Cup
Final
PhuketBlue v Brisblu.
The focus now switches back to the PGA Tour as the main run on the European Tour is over. Next week is the WGC at the rather charming Akron followed quickly by the final major of the year at the US PGA. We then head almost straight into the Playoffs which is where our third trophy of the year will be up for grabs, fought for by the top 16 in the league table. As they compete for the Playoff Trophy the rest of the table will fight to qualify for our new and final tournament of the year, the Fall Series Championship. As always the league will continue to run alongside these, and we just got a fight on our hands with the man with the awkward username catching PhuketBlue.
Onto this week and the focus is on a particularly strong field in Canada for the Canadian Open. The European Tour has a lull as a mickey mouse field heads to Russia for the inaugral Russian Open. Here are the categories:
PGA Tour-RBC Canadian Open-Category C.
European Tour-M2M Russian Open-Category F.
Enjoy!
P.s. All trades received have been processed and the trade window is now closed. JB Holmes has announced he will not return this season from injury so Carstairs has a free swap from anyone outside the top 100 of the rankings. If you notice that any of your players have announced long term injuries please inform me, it's as much your responsibility to keep an interest in your team as it is mine to try and keep up and check.
