Why did City Watch always say Gladbach needed to win? They are qualified for Europa League now, no matter what happens the last day.

Because if they won it would have taken to the last round of games.

Absolutely dire first half. Our defending was really poor and we have to do much better attacking wise. Really disappointed in some of the performances tonight. The full backs were abysmal. And I'm really surprised Aguero got 90 minutes. He was dreadful again and Kelechi should have had half an hour.

Absolutely baffling game of football. Never seen a side set up and settle for a draw when they need a win before, really surreal to watch. Did no one tell them they needed to win? Did they have Pellegrini in charge of their maths?

Their last two matches were us and Barca, so they probably conceded 2nd place and decided to play for the draw that confirmed Europa League knock outs, knowing that Celtic would lose.

Everything that I've always hated about the Champions League. Dull low tempo game dominated by an absolutely baffling refereeing display. At least we got a positive result though. Not much else to say.
