BNP...

Like most people I've no time for the BNP and as they are a tiny bunch of unelected and unelectable people I don't see why I should worry about them.

I find them less of a danger to this country than the intolerant, fascist 'anti-fascists' who try very hard to deny free speech to the BNP and other groups they don't like.

Why do these people think that the rest of us need to be shielded from the views and opinions of the BNP?

I suspect it is because they have a very low opinion of the general population and consider us too stupid and impressionable to be allowed to hear such opinions.

I know what you mean mate, but only sixty odd years ago millions were fighting and dying to stop the Nazi war machine trampling all over the world with their hateful policies and genocidal tendencies, it's a real fear for those who lived through it, or have educated themselves with what happened, that it could come to pass again - no wonder they don't wish to give these fascists any sort of platform, despite the claims of hypocrisy that could be levelled at them.
Plenty of people vote BNP, so there are enough dummies out there who need to be educated with the truth of these racist nutjobs.
Personally, I would prefer whenever a fascist point of view is proferred, that a counter argument MUST be allowed on the same platform - then the onlooker has a chance of an informed opinion, and surely must choose to reject the hate-mongers.

Bigoted, racist views are the views of the minority. Sometimes they need reminding of this

Not defending BNP voters but many vote for them out of fear especially when you have Muslim extremists running around cutting people's heads off, not saying it justifies hate on all Muslims as they are not all the same but when people get scared they don't see the rational side of things especially when it comes to their families safety as well as their own...

If we allow the fascist 'anti-fascists' to deny free speech and the freedom to march to the likes of the BNP they won't stop there.

They'll move on to the next lot of people they want to silence - for the good of everyone of course.

They'll stop when only their own views and opinions can be openly expressed, but that'll be OK because they are right about everything.

That's my point, who makes these dimwits so scared of something that will never, ever, happen to them, statistically?
The unopposed BNP and UKIP'ers, that's who, with their lies and distortions, and unbalanced diatribes.

Facts given in a neutral, educational way should dispel these irrational fears, so equal platform or no platform is the only way for me.

To be honest I think the media put that fear into people, amount of times I've read the papers and seen something related to Muslims be it underground sex trafficking or some form of murder, but I do believe the Woolwich incident pushed people past boiling point.... like you said though the chance of it happening to one of us is unlikely but fear is a powerful thing especially when it's spread across the media.

At the moment anyone from anywhere can walk in and disappear.

How does that work? You know we're like an island?

And where do they get their invisibility cloaks from?
Nice answers boys..I say boys because no one over 10 would come up with that...
Yes we are an island but obviously I didn't mean disappear in the literal sense, that would be silly wouldnt it.
If you think a backlog of 37 years to clear asylum cases means there isnt a big problem you're either a do gooder who thinks that by not wanting people here who are draining the system while claiming benefits and using our NHS is racist or you're simply hiding from the fact. Don't get me wrong there's plenty of work shy white British people doing the same but to have thousands if not millions more is obviously a big drain on the economic stability of the country.
...I got my invisibility cloak from Argos, other invisibility cloak retailers are available

I'm not against immigrants or immigration, but we as a country should be More like Oz. At the moment anyone from anywhere can walk in and disappear.
We should be taking people who have skills that we need and no one else. Heard on the radio the other day that the backlog of cases, wether here legally or not will take 37 years to clear!

Pretty much this...

It's the illegals, none working benefit claiming immigrants that are a unnecessary drain.

I may have misunderstood you, but how is it possible for an illegal claim benefits?

Unless of course you meant illegals and "non working benefit claimants" as distinct.

However, even if you did, id challenge that assumption. I've read visa letters and the ones I've read do not not allow the applicant to claim any type of welfare for a certain number of years.

If they're claiming benefits and using the NHS then they've hardly "disappeared"]
