My answer wasn't intended to be sarcastic.

You say, anyone from anywhere can just walk in.

The fact we are an island is quite a relevant point in disputing that I would have thought. Even if we assume you weren't been literal with the word, walk. Have you ever tried just waltzing through customs with no documentation lately?

My answer was intended to be sarcastic. Just in case anyone was in any doubt.
Wow no wonder you're called flash, you're quick as lighting.

Nah, it's because he's good at cleaning floors ;-)

I'm not against immigrants or immigration, but we as a country should be More like Oz. At the moment anyone from anywhere can walk in and disappear.
We should be taking people who have skills that we need and no one else. Heard on the radio the other day that the backlog of cases, wether here legally or not will take 37 years to clear!

Pretty much this...

It's the illegals, none working benefit claiming immigrants that are a unnecessary drain.

I may have misunderstood you, but how is it possible for an illegal claim benefits?

Unless of course you meant illegals and "non working benefit claimants" as distinct.

However, even if you did, id challenge that assumption. I've read visa letters and the ones I've read do not not allow the applicant to claim any type of welfare for a certain number of years.

yes I meant the none working benefit claimers. Maybe they can't claim welfare for a number of years but after those years are up they can, I understand British citizens also scrounge off welfare and I'd be happy to see them deported as well but I can imagine it's harder to deport those of British cizitzenship then those that have been in the country for 5-10 years having only worked less then half of the time they've been here?? If not then ship the British welfare scrounging cunts as well!!

I mentioned the Romanians that will be arriving next year and a Polish lad that lives and works with a good friend of mine mentioned that they had the same problem with the Romanians in Poland and that they use to just beg outside village shops and peoples houses and if refused they would turn nasty obviously the element of truth in that I don't know but it's a scary prospect, not to say the thousands that will migrate over here will all be beggers.

If we adopted a policy like the Australians regarding some sort of working background and maybe the American policy where you can only enter if you have enough money to support yourself (I think in America it's something like $20,000) and a government issued contract only obtainable if you have a family member or friend already living in the country stating that in the likely event of not being able to support yourself you won't be allowed to claim benefits and your family member or friend will support you financially.

Woz can't be Adolph because certain posters have already given me the title.

And all i do is vote UKIP.

To be serious we couldn't have a reasoned debate on this because the vociferous fascist left wing (Who sometimes want to glass people) are too busy just shouting insults as a silencing tactic.

Statement..."I don't like mass immigration!"

Reply...."Racist,Nazi Adolph.

:-)

Haha nail on head

My shiny floors>>>>>>>>>>>>>everyone elses.

Haha yeah....just to clear it up though I'm in no way racist and don't vote BNP...in fact at 40 I've never voted for any of the fuckers..just believe there's a big problem with immigration..that's not the fault of the immigrants its the powers that be who have created racists out of people who were not racist before because of their idiotic policies

The BNP are a racist party and I would not vote for them as they discriminate against all.

I don't think they try and hide this though and will never become a major player in mainstream politics.

I don't think I accused you of being racist and if my posts have implied that you are, then I apologise. There's so much hand-wringing about immigration at the moment and rather than check facts, some people just jump on the bandwagon, like dear old Woz, and suddenly we have mosques being firebombed etc.

The thing I find a bit strange about this whole immigration debate is that if you look at the figures the UK is no 'worse off' than any other comparatively rich EU country in terms of either EU or non-EU immigration (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immigratio ... opulations). That's in percentage of total population. Germany of course has a higher population, so has more in terms of actual numbers.
Can't speak for the benefit rules in Germany, France, Spain etc. Germany's economy seems to be doing OK though. I suspect a lot of it is the Little Englander mentality, and a wish to go back to perceived 'better times'; an idealised, chocolate box vision of how England was in the thirties through to the fifties. The reality, of course, was somewhat different. Particularly if you were working class.
This sort of thing has happened throughout history, with economic migrants relocating due to shitty governments, war, famines, disasters, political and religious persecution etc.
Manchester has a long history of such migrants. Better place for it in my humble opinion.

I'm just not sure what you're basing this on. I mean, do you think someone would come to the uk with the savings to survive just so they can claim welfare, or that they may stop working as soon as they are eligible?

I mean, why would it happen like that? It doesn't make sense.

Facts prove that immigrants are less likely to claim welfare, so I think ts pretty unfounded to be honest.

In the UK immigrants must be able to demonstrate gross salary of 18,600 per household. This increases with children.

Of course the eu is a different kettle of fish.

Anyway, I'm not tryin to have a go, and im not sure if I made sense. I've just finished a fourteen hour work day and all the lines are blurred :)
