Board Games

Someone I used to work with has just made a bored game. I have not played it but posting here to send some business his way ( I have no idea how he's selling it mind you )

Exploding Kittens - Just a box of cards, easy to get the hang of and every single person I know who's played it enjoys it.

No, not at all, it's not a linear track around the board - if you see something that looks like one on an image, that's the score tracker.

It's a mapboard with routes that each person in turn can claim a leg of using the number of pieces (carriages) on the map. You score by completing routes on cards in your hand - long routes score more but are harder/take longer. So for a UK map, Manchester-Birmingham would be a longer route than Manchester-Liverpool - it would take more pieces to complete, but score more.

The game ends when a player runs out of carriages to place on the map, and it's not a long game.
There's a version available for mobile phones too. The app is a good introduction to the game, plays just the same, and can play with the phone as opponent or against other linked opponents.

Yes, I've played that too, and agree - as a way to find out if it's your kind of game, it's cheap.

Also bought the Man City game from amazon for my lad for christmas. No idea what it is, but Haaland is on the box so atleast its a new game, not some old shite with Mangala on it.
I've got the MCFC Centurions Edition Monopoly. My daughter always smashes me at it, but it' a quality box cover.

ok then it isnt the board game I thought it was - there is a board game version of Locomotion/Transport Tycoon

First time I seen this game, is it similar to monopoly?

Ticket to Ride is excellent - had many happy hours playing this.

No money involved, it's about building routes between cities. A lot of fun and then skulduggery when you spend three quarters of the game saving cards to build a massive route and then another player blocks you!
