Bobby Madley

breach of contract, instant dismissal,no pay off.

Even taking into account the use of a pay off/NDA to keep people quiet, referees are employees like anyone else. You can't just instantly dismiss someone with no pay off for a dubious joke on social media. If you could, a lot of people on here would be crapping themselves.

He resigned. Much more likely are the match fixing allegations. Maybe the dog thrown in as a side issue as well.

What is worrying to me in all this is the press silence about this situation

The Telegraph were quick to act when it was brought to their attention about managers breaching FA rules hence Allardyce resigning from England but allegations whether true or not against Premier league referee are met with a deafening silence. This could be the biggest news in football as it would once and all mean that match fixing is going on in the Premier League.

Clearly its not in Sky Sports or its lackey's Talksport The Sun or The Times to mention such things as that could affect the product they have paid fortunes for but why is no one else from the media such as The Telegraph doing an in depth investigation to try and bring to light the truth

We know football at the top is corrupt and nothing has changed there just the faces are different but something must be done to try and get to the root of these issues

Depends on the terms of the original contract of employment.not on outsiders opinion.
Gross misconduct is gross misconduct-dismissal no pay off.
As ive said ,i doubt very much the online remark had anything to do with this man's sudden decision to move to Norway.
One min he is an elite prem ref,a posistion he must have craved for years, thd next minute he,s in Norway.right oh.

Nope. It depends on the law. Contract of employment is subject to that - if one tells you to stand on your head and you sign it, it doesn't mean it's legally enforceable. They can put telling a dodgy joke on social media as an example of gross misconduct if they like, but good luck getting that through a tribunal. Hence the pay off.

Resigned equates to being caught with his hand in the cookie jar and given no other option, oh and maybe interfering with canines for good measure.

Pretty sure his contract would have had terms relating to bringing the fa/prem into disrepute...and he would be paid,as an elite ref to observe this so if he was making fun of disabled people(and i dont think this is why he left) id say this would def come within the realms of gross misconduct, and given the attempts made by the prem league to support minority groups...inc disabled fans and referees...id say thats not just a 'dodgy joke' ...that goes against everything the prem stand for and undermines a lot of hard work.
To breach a term as outlined above, would, imo be enforceable and is a world apart from 'if one tells u to stand on your head'

Glen hoddle didnt last very long when he mispoke about the disabled a a few years back..
