Bodo/Glimt (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Haaland is getting ZERO service, he's an out and out goal scorer. There is little suprise he is pissed off. It's dead simple, get lots of balls over the top or from the wings to him and he will score loads. Don't and he won't score many and get frustrated
Exactly this hence why someone said why are we buying players that don’t fit pep, because I think these players are for who ever comes in next to be wide and provide service today he had no space at all and our high line doesn’t help! We could of let bodo glint have the ball do you think they would of created them chances definely not and we could of had some space for Haaland to actually run in to

I don't agree with your last sentence.
Nor do I agree with your first, to be fair.
I absolutely agree that we need athleticism alongside Rodri.
then if we keep them and tey keep playing this keeps happening.

Our worst performances and runs of form both last season and this season have been with Lewis in the team (last season) and both of them in the team this season

this aint a coincidence...go back and look when we were struggling last season.....An aged Gundo and KDB with Lewis as well in midfield or fullback or midfield...go look at the goals we conceeded.....the same thing all the time....our midfield or fullback or both unable to recover.......same now

The worrying thing is, we play with no real identity anymore. Look like a load of weak players thrown together.

We kept hearing the Bodo philosophy - play well and the results will take care of themselves.

We’ve now produced two garbage performances by our standards and got what we deserved. Get back to basics and stop giving away goals for fun.

Even when we were shit last season for a spell was it as bad as these past two games? Feels like the performance, attitude and game plan is miles off.

Really missing the 3 experienced CBs, Nunes, Nico G but fuck me we played suicidal football devoid of proper effort and passion which is unforgivable.

I’ve said it before but at present I think we can only afford one from the following 3 starting - Foden (so bad recently it’s bewildering), Reijnders (lightweight and doesn’t appear to offer much at present) and Cherki (I’d be starting him central most matches). Add in Rico who is nowhere near the quality we need and we were up against it.

Haaland miles off it again.

Bodo were a more than decent side who know what and how they have to do.

Give Rodri the required support to be effective on his transition rather than leave him cast adrift trying to hold the midfield (although no excuses for his sending off which was pathetic and petulant in equal measure).

The same tactics and personnel leading to the same insipid performances, a team meeting or more is required sharpish to get some semblance of a turnaround.
It’s their DNA;)

Karen Carney called it right after the match, why are we so bad in transition? We play so deep in the opposition half and then trot back when the other teams have sussed it and throw everyone forward leaving us massively out numbered,School playground level tactics
One of our many problems is that we play our best football in our own half. Thats not helping.

Nagging feeling over the Newcastle game, at the moment looking like our most likely shot for a pot, fingers crossed Nico, Nunes and more importantly Dias are back, otherwise it’s probably the same defence as tonight
Confidence looks shot once we concede, ……gulp!

It’s not in a lull at all ffs. Two signings of high PL quality the likes Every other club wanted. In on all 4 comps, 1 foot in Wembley for one. The team maybe on a bit of a downer at the minute but not the club, or its season for that matter.
It is in a lull, it's stale on that pitch. Change needed!

Is Pep's era over? Have his style and tactics become outdated and predictable? Playing with slow, continuous sideways and back passes is ineffective. Every team creates scoring opportunities against City. A radical change is desperately needed at the club because this style is no longer viable or effective. The problem is that Pep is stubborn and refuses to change his approach.

Foden and Haaland should be benched v wolves. One consolation, our performance shows that the rags victory over us, is probably not the 2nd coming like they think it is. The last two games would have been a test against a bottom 4 championship side.

We need a week off and it ain't coming any time soon.
Feels like the matches are training sessions because they're not getting the proper sessions between matches with them being so regular, on top of the injuries etc.
With respect.......there is not a single excuse for tonights scoreline.

So to add to the good mood do you know what I think, Rodri will not sign a new contract and will ask to leave in the summer.

Just an opinion from KFA
He's going to have to show something before the end of the season to make that make sense for him.

Some valid points but horrendously disrespectful in the way you've said it
Tbf….once may be a mistake, twice may be a coincidence but repeatedly getting done in the same way over the last couple of seasons does beg the question
No pressure Guehi….hope you’re ready to save the day!

O’Reilly looked like the only one with some urgency. Cherki to a lesser extent. The rest were a shambles.
hope Guehi doesn’t get a “cooling off” period, he could still change his mind!
