Bodo/Glimt (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

It’s become very noticeable very quickly that we have too many players that can’t run.
Too slow and a lack of intensity.

Get Marmoush and Semenyo on V Wolves, they should be able to help with that
Worryingly, Semenyo looks like he’s already caught the ‘don’t attack your full back, keep playing it backwards’ bug.
Given that 4 weeks ago he ran the rags defence ragged, if he’s being told to do that against an already booked Fatty Shaw, he’ll become another disappointment, which will be criminal.

Had a crap day!
It was really stressful at work. When I got home I went for a walk only to get bitten by a stranger's dog.
I then found out the Internet was down.
I went round to a friends to watch the match but there was an accident enroute so it took ages to get there. I arrived 20 minutes into the game, and when I did she was still working and on a Team's call so I had to watch the first half with the sound on mute.
To cap it all off, I had to watch that dross as we were comprehensively beaten and outplayed by a group of minnows.

I have been saying for a while not sure if Pep should get the 2 year extension.
Ok squad going through a rebuild but that’s nothing to do with getting the basics right and playing with passion and pride. 1st home game v Spurs Fulham 5-1 up and hanging on at 5-4 near the end the Derby last weekend could have been 5 or 6 nil and now getting schooled by Bodo Glimt again lucky it was only 3. Pep is being sussed tactically far too often now and it’s obvious he will never change or adapt. Too many sideways and backward passes. We got away with defensive weaknesses because our defence rarely came under pressure due to us dominating possession in the opponents half.We are constantly giving the ball away now leading to fast counter attacks. Goals have dried up for Haaland and honestly what else does he offer ? When your defence is under pressure you look to your CF to win the out ball and hold it up - he is one of the worst I’ve seen for the size of him and sorry for 500 grand a week I’d want so much more. Thanks for the memories Pep - always be a club legend but time to go at end of season and make way for some fresh ideas.

Ah mate what a shitter of a day!

We are perfectly set up to counter with our attacking personnel but you know, the ideology of Cruyff means Pep won’t.
Pure Arrogance.
we were doing just this two months ago so it can't be for that reason otherwise he wouldn't have even tried it.

He's said we're missing Savinho. No, I'm not joking. I wish I was.
what !!!
not total but you can only use what you have...

when you look at the bigger picture there arent a lot of solutions available

Who does he play at right back? - that should have been sorted in the summer

The centre half situation - should have been sorted in the summer -the Stones and Ake situations were literally predicted

No left back and then buying one who doesnt/wont defend and we still need one more

The Rodri situation came about nearly two years ago at first.....there is no other midfield options if we dont play Rodri or Nico G - again this was preedicted

Kova was known to be in trouble at the start of the summer....

Anyone who knows anything about football knows that Rico Lewis whether it be in midfield or at fullback aint good enough but we did nothing to replace him and someone at the club inexplicably gave him a contracg extension.....not club in the top half of the league would have him now.....

ALL of this was talked about in the summer by fans on here....not buyign the right players is a failing of the. club as a whole

we wasted money on buying two goalkeepers as well - that aint Pep
well all this maybe true so why the fuck does pep still play this suicidal high line ?
hes just too stuborn to change, reminds me of another manager who got fucked off recently

I said the same thing after the United game. He dominated Shaw when he was at Bournemouth yet when Shaw was booked after 20mins in the Derby Semenyo didn’t go near him after that - all very odd

To repeat myself, the source of the injury crisis is keeping Stones and Ake 2 years after the start of their decline (23/24) and not replacing Akanji who was mostly available and good enough to rotate Dias and Gvardiol.

Let's hope Guehi hits the ground running.

To derail another season with an injury crisis after repeating the same mistake from the previous season is unacceptable.

Did you have a nice tea though?

problem with Marmoush is that he doesnt fit the team......he cant play the Haaland role on his own and you can pay him central with Haaland as it unbalances the team...and he is no good wide

good player but doesnt fit
Marmoush does not appear to have the football brain or first touch that a City player needs.

Totally agree. Both Doku and Semenyo were stopping and passing backwards rather than taking on the full backs
