This match seems quite close to selling out on the planner, so I wonder if they will open the away end or put a giant 'SAY NO TO RACISM' banner over it?

Seems I need to get my facts right as I was under the impression the free tickets were due to the Moscow fans not being allowed in the stadium.
So will the away end be closed ?

From the OS

City v CSKA

The night will belong to us when City face CSKA Moscow on Wednesday 5 November in the UEFA Champions League.

CSKA Moscow fans are not permitted to attend this fixture so we will have the entire Etihad Stadium available for home supporters only.

To celebrate this rare opportunity to pack both ends of the stadium with home supporters, fans who buy one ticket will receive an additional ticket completely free. This offer applies to fans who have already bought tickets for this match, and those looking to buy a ticket now.

How are you all getting your extra ticket?

I am in China now so trying to do it online. When I add a ticket and go to my basket and checkout it wants to charge me £25. I am in the cup scheme so why cant I get one?
If I phone up to order it will cost more than a ticket.

Most have done it on the phone, best I can suggest is an email explaining the circumstance with your supporter number to the club ?

Took me over an hour and a half of waiting on phone over 3 days to finally get through. Asked for written explanation why I couldn’t buy my “free” ticket online / use the 24hr line. I too am in cup scheme so had to use supporter option 3 bollocks.

Tried online and yep, wants £25 quid. Surely not beyond the realms of technology to:

a. allow cup scheme holders to have got their additional ticket online
b. allowed cup scheme holders to get free ticket from 24hr number.

Or am I missing some hidden difficulty?

Ciderman this is what you do. Go online log in as normal and select choose a seat. Pick a seat where you want to sit but make sure the one next to it is empty.
The screen will show you are charged £25.
Then go to make a selection or whatever it says and pick the seat next to the one you have already selected.
The screen shows this one is free.
Go to checkout, then delete the £25 one, press proceed, your fee ticket remains in your basket and gets posted out to you.

Hear to help happy to help

Although I don't know if they post them to China !!

OS experiencing high traffic volumes.

State of play with a week and a half until the match. Away end now open. Bet UEFA didn't dare try and keep them closed.

It will sell out

I wonder if the club will do this again?

Yes they've lost out on ticket sales, but there won't be any empty seats, and they will recoup some of that lost ticket money on merchandise, drink, and food sales.

I'm also wondering if Sheikh Mansour told Khaldoon and Soriano to fill the Etihad for the CSKA match, regardless of how? I have know doubt what followed the Roma match attendance wise and ticket price wise, got back to him in one form or another.

The price of success.(Spurs at home last Saturday as well)

phoned up on sat for my freebie and still hasn't come. phones city today who said they aren't sending them out until next week. Strange considering people on here are saying they have been sent them - maybe they are sending internet sales straight away and phone sales next week.
I just don't trust the ticket office to get it right.

My additional one arrived today and was ordered by phone - personally in the cup scheme and was just getting one for my son to attend though, so maybe quicker because mine was already paid in advance - although...I can't see the money leaving my account.....

I'm in the scheme too.
Will go down tomorrow and ask them. Need to go anyway to get the city Christmas jumper!

Great idea - let's fill that stadium and roar City to success. I had enough sniping from Rag fans over the attendance against Roma. Let's give them nothing to crow about...

Did you tell them City don't force their supporters to buy tickets for Champions League?

Also, it's worth pointing out to them that we currently have Champions Leaugue/Europa League, League Cup, FA Cup and Premier League (if not a season ticket holder) to consider and it all adds up, especially with Christmas is not too far away. Plus, there are fans who support City Women F.C., Rag fans don't have this option because MUFC refuse to set up and support a Womens team. As I understand it, even FC United have a womens team!

Not arsed what other fans say about any empty seats - if that is all they have to have a go at us, then they lead very sad and unfulfilled lives.

Just tell the Rags that even if only 100 city fans turn up for a Champs league match this season (and next ?) it will be 100 more than they get.

Who's this MUFC you speak of? They haven't been an FC for years.

Tried to get my mate a ticket yesterday. Pressed all the right buttons and kept being shunted to a voicemail extension. In the end, I drove down to the ground (only 10 miles away) and picked one up no problem. My mate Cinders is now going to the ball!
