Maybe this shows how far off Boj is to returning.

Well he's due to play for reserves any time now, so not far off.

Heard it all the before, infact this time last year. I'd be very surprised if we see Johnson or Bojinov playing for City this season.

You can only change three players, I think.

I presume that Jo is cup-tied with Everton and should we need to we can cancel the loan and recall him to our squad. Just guessing but I am sure that we must have included this clause in the loan agreement otherwise makes no sense??

No clause's involved.
How the feck would you know? If he has gone out on loan and we subsequently need him back, he will come back. No clauses are required.

Im sure I read that you can only make three changes to your squad. Plus if we get through dont we register another squad for the next round so he will only be ineglible for the Copenhagen games?

You don't just play one reserve game and go straight back into the first team when you've been out injured for 18 months. Remember how much they protected him last year in the reserves and it still wasn't enough? They'll be looking for him to get a minimum of 10-12 reserve games under his belt before he's even considered for a spot on the bench. I doubt we'll be seeing our Boj in the first team this season.

And, I might be reading it wrong, but if you can only make three changes, then surely Given, Bridge and Bellamy are far more important. If so, I don't see what all the fuss is about.

Re: BOJINOV DROPPED NEEDLESSLY FOR JO FROM UEFA SQUAD

Don’t understand what your point is ?,Jo is a Manchester City player we still retain his registration, so we can end his loan move at any time and bring him back to City, point being if we have any injuries we will see him sooner than you think and he is eligible for the UEFA cup.

What is the point in including Bojinov in our UEFA cup squad, whose City career has been nothing more than 10 minutes of first team action and a warm up in one and a half seasons?, its not like he will achieve any decent level of match fitness this season if he resumed training tomorrow which he is not going too.

Think he's already back in training according to the Training Ground Mafia, but I agree, it's an eternal optimist that believes Boj will be playing first-team football this season.

Thanks to all posters for their interest in this issue. I agree hindsight is a precise science and the decision between Jo and Boj was a case of "as bad burned as scalded".

I don't agree with those who say it doesn't matter because Boj is not going to be match fit this season. He might be and he has three months to prove himself.
Those who say Jo can be recalled from loan at Everton in the unlikely event we need him may well be right, we just don't know but on reflection I'm with lancsblue. Given was brought in so Richard Martin could have been left out and we could have had Boj available if he gets match fit as well as Jo.

It's not just Ball, TBH and Boj missing - no Didi Hamann either in that squad. There are 11 B List players where normally it's 25 A list plus 10 B List. Very odd, 5 keepers too, they could easily have omitted Richard Martin, he hardly even turns out for the ressies recently.

There are enough Association trained players already in the A list, a total of 8 association and club-trained players is the minimum needed and there's no age restriction.

Hart, Bridge, Vassell all qualify as Association trained and Schmeichel, Onuoha, Richards, Johnson, SWP, Ireland, Etuhu as club-trained.

I'll be honest, i'm really struggling to get worked up about this, Bojinov has assumed some sort of legendary status after a couple of good pre-season games, 20 mins vs West Ham and a youtube video. If Samaras had gotten injured after his first couple of weeks the same situation could have applied.

He's injured, he probably won't get anywhere near full fitness soon enough to play an important UEFA cup tie, and no one knows whether he's actually going to be any good. Fair does some posters watched him when he was in Italy, but he's barely played since then, no-one knows if he's even going to recover fully.

I guess having him in the squad ahead of a player on loan would make sense, on the off chance, but it hardly warrants the dramatic thread title and the 'i'm raging about this' posts.

the most sensible post on the subject so far
i'd be surprised if anyone round here has ever seen Bojinov play(don't give me that a.c milan and stockport bollocks) apart from a few youtube videos.
i'll also be surprised if we see him again
