Bolton (sold to Football Ventures)

Could be both gone on the same day. Swinton Lions may get a new ground at last. Prefer going Bolton to Bournemouth, Norwich and Brighton, but this has been coming for 7 years, and Fat Sam was on the radio saying they should have been pushing on for Champions League and that is why he left. Blackpool, Notts County etc all in great shape now.

Wow......
Just cant comprehend that 2 clubs whose towns are what? 6 miles apart? Are going to fold at the same time like no other club has since Aldershot some 30 years ago.....

simple facts are not enough people go to games there. Its like when Woolies and other High St stores close and people bleat " oh but I really liked going in there " and carry on ordering stuff on line. Quick Google shows Bolton has a population of just under 195k and an average home gate of just under 16k. Bury has a pop of just shy of 190k and an average home gate of just under 4k. And yet suddenly all these people are on the news bemoaning the fate of their "home town club " as they order a rag or dippers shirt on line. Its a dreadful outcome for all those concerned but please those bleeding hearts from both towns who would probably struggle to recognise a BWFC or BFC shirt need to accept they are complicit in the demise of the home town club they profess to love.

If they reform what division will they be put in?

I know Darlington were demoted from the Conference to the Northern League (9th tier) in 2012.

Some of the grounds at that and the 8th tier struggled to cope with 250/300 Darlington fans visiting so Bolton surely a non starter.

I think Bury will pull through but Bolton will not. There was a record low attendance at their match on Saturday which indicates the fans have given up too. A Phoenix club could reform around the Northern Counties league. The tier below the Conference North.

Looks like the BWFC supporters went a bit too early, leaving those banners and coffins at Gigg Lane a month ago.

To be fair, a local business man who knows how to rebuild a club is exactly what Bolton need
