Bondi terror attack

I think it dawned on him, once he had the gun in hand, that if police turn up with the instruction of "active shooter" they're not gonna spend too long working out if the guy holding the gun is a good guy or a bad guy.
Really? Whoever he is he's a brave fucker and a cool character but I doubt that was the reason he didn't pull the trigger.. probably more like the thought 'i'm scared as hell and I don't want to kill a person' flashed through his mind

Really hope the bloke that disarmed one of the cunts is ok. He’s a fucking hero.

I’m sure many of us that have seen the footage have questioned if we’d do the same and hope we would - but when it’s one’s life on the line then I’m not sure I’d be able to show the courage he did.
To take the courage to do what he did is amazing in itself, but to then have the restraint not to shoot the **** in the head is too.

It’s hard to know what any of us would have done in that situation but, I reckon for a lot of people, adrenaline would be pumping so much and they’d be so angry with him having murdered people that it would take some for them not to blow his head off.

It’s hard to guess exactly what he was thinking, but it appears like he’s thought ‘I can hear the sirens, I wouldn’t now want the Police to think I’m the shooter, also, would I get into trouble for mudering the bloke? I think I best put this rifle down’… astonishing rationality in the heat of the moment.

That’s some situation to be in!

Faced with a armed gunman most human beings would automatically go into self preservation mode to save their lives. However a select few like this man are brave enough to challenge and tackle the gunman.

Like you said he's an absolute hero and I'm sure he saved more lives, no doubt about that

The scary part in tackling the attacker like that is the fact he was the one standing their with the gun - had police turned up they could easily have shot that hero instead.

Just horrible imagine being on that beach when this started doesn’t bare thinking,as for the person who tackled one of the gunmen he’s an absolute hero,to even have the mental strength to approach and tussle with him while the other gunman is yards away shooting I just can’t get my head round it ..Something is going to have to change this is happening to much now and it’s always the innocent who are the victims of these horrible attacks..

I think both thoughts went through his head tbh. Him raising his arm after laying the gun against the tree felt very "I'm not the guy shooting people I'm not the guy you want" etc.

He is indeed an hero and as you said with your life on the line would you do the same. It would be a very small percentage. Awful news.
