Not sure if it’s hate for Bono. You‘re going to turn a lot of fans in such a long time frame with the extreme shifts from post punk to political to commercial to evangelical and then pop/glam rock around zooropa.

far too much Christian imagery in the lyrics for me on his later stuff which is ok for his personal background but some of it felt preachy, I always expected to him come on stage in the Popemobile.

He's a bit tiresome, but at least he's being tiresome trying to make stuff in the world a little bit better.
I have no problem people slagging him off, you can't be everything to everyone. However, before you slag off one of the all time great songwriters, I'd just like to hear a little bit of your own songwriting backlog, for reference. Thanks.

Saw them at the Apollo about 100 years ago when Dave had hair. Great live band, everything up to Unforgettable Fire plus Achtung Baby decent stuff.

I took an instant dislike of him at Gateshead in 82 when a pretty unknown U2 supported The Police.
During their unspectacular set he climbed up some scaffold for attention and later joined Police onstage for invisible sun and tried to steal the limelight.
He came across as an attention seeking twat even then and it set the tone for my opinion of him.
I do like a few of their tunes tho..

I don't feel I have to, if I'm honest.
The fact that you have spent money following a mediocre band is none of my business.
The phrase "hype exceeds talent" is one I'm particularly proud of, and I maintain it applys perfectly to u2.
Now, you may be happy to spend 300 dollars or whatever to see your heros going through the motions, but if its alright with you, I'll do what I did nearly 40 years ago, and swerve the pixie booted preachy ****.
