Bony wants to stay and prove himself...

Another £25m down the drain. I know its a drop in the ocean for our owner but its still got to hurt?

Fine by me. He offers something completely different to Jesus and Aguero, might as well give it a go. Worst case scenario he does nothing, gets no gametime and leaves next year. Best case scenario he rediscovers his best form and helps us win trophies.

I assume he'll be with us for preseason, let's see how he does there.
Agreed.

Huge question marks around attitude.

He's had his chance.

Really? Attitude was never his problem. He was unfit and immobile, but that was probably to do with the Malaria. His big problem was simple lack of quality, not lack of effort.

to be honest, if all things stay the same, what will his value be now and at the winter window? £8m? i can't see it changing.

Pep might as well try and get him fit this summer, see if he can approach anything resembling form over the next few months and see if he can be a squad asset. Then sell if failed. Can't see it being any skin off our nose if his value depreciates a little more and with luck his stock might increase if he puts in a few good cameos.

A slightly above average goalscorer who breaks apart when the midfield is overrun and he gets isolated/ marked. Aguero had the same being isolated issues under Pellegrini but hardly ever breaks apart when taking chances. That's the difference to me. Aguero took his chances that were few, Bony made the play slower than possible.

He will play better with Sané, a better Sterling and Silva-Silva but I doubt Pep rates Bony at all. Maybe a 4th striker if Bony wants to prove his worth that bad. His best game was during Sterling's hat trick.

Holy shit, who was the ITK who said Bony was getting a second chance in the Quiet thread?! Hahahh

In all seriousness though, I've always felt a bid sorry for Bony, it wasn't his fault he was bought into a team that doesn't really suit his playing style. But if he is willing to change, to put a shift in and contribute nothing but 100% effort, then I'm happy for him to stay, he can be a bit more of a battering ram that our other strikers

No issue with this at all.

I'm with you two in that I believe there is a player in there.
Yes he's not the super fast beat the offside trap centre forward. But when a team is parking the bus, we need a player who can hold a ball and lay it off at the right time and occasionally we need a player with a bit of presence/muscle up top

Didn't he sign for us on low wages that were mainly based on bonuses for playing!

I'd give him another go, we have nothing to lose

He has talent but think he is suited to the championship IMO. When he played he need multi chances to score even point blank in front of goal. I remember thinking that iheanacho deserves to be ahead of him at points.

What does it tell you if stoke signed him on loan for the season but played a handful of games?

He wont get ahead of Kun, Jesus and iheanacho IMO.

A expensive buy that just hasn't worked out.
