Bony's Transfer

The worst transfer since the takeover , both for the timing ie in January when we didn't need him and for the fact that he doesn't suit our style of play

Pelegrini also seems to think he should be playing as a number 10 , but that is more a comment on that clown than bony

His selection yesterday and in recent weeks beggars belief. I don't blame Bony either for where he is now, this manager could probably drain the life force out of anyone, given time.

Take a look at @City_Watch's Tweet:

Bony goes from A to Z

Absurd Awful
Bumbling Burden
Clueless Calamity
Deplorable Disaster
Expensive Enigmatic
Feeble Failure
Gross Goop
Hopeless Hump
Ineffective Idle
Jolly Jellyhead
Krap Klown
Lazy Lax
Massive Mishap
Nothing Nuisance
Obscure Overpriced
Pathetic Powerless
Questionable
Rotten Risk
Slow Slug
Total Tragedy
Unsettled Useless
Vague Vagabond
Woeful Worthless
Xpensive Xcrement

I had only seen Bony on MOTD before we bought him and thought we were getting a Mark Hughes style player - not quick but immensely strong, good at holding up the ball, able to bring others into play, good in the air and capable of scoring some decent goals. This seemed to make sense and was something that I hoped we would get for a long time as we have not had that style of striker for a long time.

Needless to say I have been disappointed. He does not seem to be showing any of these strengths. I hope he can turn things around but cannot see him doing that with us.

He needs to be benched and then sold. kelechi and Faupala can contribute far more right now and playing both as back ups to Kun serves us better in the long term.

Can't believe we got rid of Dzeko for Bony. Hope we've learn our lesson of not buying players on the back of 1 good season (Watch us buy Vardy for £30mil haha).
Totally. Never understood the loathing for Dzeko on here. Yeah, he had poor form for long periods but he scored some really important goals for us in crucial games. That's something I can never see Bony doing.

I think Bony has been very unfairly treated. He HAS score goals and he DOES get into positions to score. He was criticised for having SEVEN chances, only one on target? He had an initial drought period when joining the club partly due to never being given a full start at City after being a guaranteed starter at Swansea. The problem for him is that he has been getting stick even in a period when scoring every other game, so his confidence is shot because it's like he can't possibly do right. Now he is playing like the cap fits. He has a specific set of skills, very strong physically, plenty of guile and clinical finishing on form, but never a player with great mobility or pace, so don't judge him on that. Equally don't judge Toure on not being a box tO box midfielder at 32.

I really don't know what his skill set is. Whilst with us he hasn't made the most of his supposed physicality, either during one on one's or in the air.

I rarely see him take a man on, and the idea that he holds the ball up well seems to be over-hyped. It comes back off him far more times than it sticks, as he constantly relies on taking the ball with his back to goal and rolling the defender (a move which he's failed far more times than he's pulled off this season). During the Norwich game he managed one single attempted blocked shot and his time spent with the ball inside the opponents penalty area (other than a set piece) was a stunning 0 mins 0 secs. That's shocking for a £25m striker.

Saw the words Bonys transfer and was elated.
Thought some daft twat had signed him from us....back down to earth now.
Just hope Pellers doesn't let him anywhere near the team v the rags.

Don't hold your breath, it truly is one of the most strangest decisions he keeps making to stick by him. Aguero must even look at the teamsheet now and think ffs not again.
