Books

Depends what sort of books you like, though anything by Christopher Brookmyre makes good holiday reading (Like Carl Hiaasen but with more black comedy and scottish influence)

Choke looks a good call - I'll also chec k out Brookmyre (I should be able to remember that name).

I like a fair variety of books - Jeff Noon is a particular fave but also enjoyed stuff like Zen & the art of motorcycle maintenance, Life of Pi and numerous auto-biogs (although they can't have been that good as I can't remember any names at the mo' - other than Bez's).

try 3 para, all about our boys in afghanistan and the conditions these lads and lasses have to endure, good read.

If you fancy something a little out of the ordinary try "River God" by Wilbur Smith.
The tale of an Egyptian eunach. War, sex, intrigue in the Valley of the Kings. Brilliant read.
In fact I'm gonna start reading it again afer I finish the latest Gary James...

A star called Henry - Roddy Doyle.

Top notch, or anything by Irvine Welsh.

What a fantastic book.

I read it when I was living in Dublin so it had even more meaning.

The follow up was a bit poor tho.
