In the past I could accept us going through a bad patch as we were either shit and had no money or just not having any luck, it happens.

When Hughes was having no luck last season, we were still playing nice stuff and we won a lot of games convincingly that season, so he could be forgiven for a bad spell.

However we look so poor this season, I feel we've gone backwards if anything.

We dominated Liverpool, played very well against Chelsea and did well at Salzburg and Poznan at home (although that's expected with them last two), but apart from that can anyone seriously say we've played well?

We've been so lucky in nearly every win we've had and have been battered by teams we should be beating in other games, we've played some of the most boring football since I've been watching City (at least Pearce had an excuse, he had no money!!)

I know to be a top team you have to play bad and still win, but we can't play bad nearly every game. The best teams dominate most games in their season, not the odd one.

He doesn't help himself with playing such negative tactics and players, leaving out creative and dangerous players, bringing on defenders for attacking players when we need a goal, getting rid of main goal threats in the summer and keeping donkeys.

I don't think he will improve us but I also wouldn't get rid of him unless we had a very good replacement available.

If anyone is enjoying watching the way City are playing now, please tell me why, because I can't see it.

This isn't a Hughes in or Mancini out thread. Just a question to other fans, seeing if you are actually enjoying watching City atm, because I've not met any that are.

Those lads in Poland should get their money back too.

i agree with every single word of that, mr ram rod. we have been very mediocre this season with exception of liverpool, chelsea and thats it. i don't want Mancini to leave as i feel we have the potential to improve, and sacking him would make us a lacking stock and we'd be back to square one.

great post mate

i agree with quite a few of your sentiments, dissapointing? yes. baffling? yes. frustrating? YES! but with city its never boring!

What games did we win convincingly under Hughes last season? We played some good stuff under Hughes but it was also some of the most pointless, thoughtless football ever at times, none more so than in our run of draws where if we weren't winning all we'd seem to do was get Lescott to pump it long and hope Ade could do something in the air

The performances haven't been great this season bar a few but the results have been good on the whole. The last 2 performances have been unacceptable in terms of what we should expect and while the players need to talk a fair share of the blame so does the manager. I've enjoyed watching us this season but i also think theres a lot of room for improvement

Room for improvement is the key, let's give it time, I know 4th just isn't good enough for a club like ours as we are used to so much better, oh wait a minuite were doing better thsn ever it seems. Chill out guys let's give Mancini time to rid us of Hughes wastes of spaces.

I was waiting for an appropriate topic to post my thoughts, and this is probably it...

I like Mancini, I think he is an excellent manager, and I think he gets a lot of stick which he doesn't deserve. I enjoy some of the football we have played, when the game plan has worked...

But I tell you one thing, I see the way that some manager's send out their teams, who don't have players close to ours, and you see the confidence they play with, pushing players forward, whilst still, dominating possession.

I think that we can play a lot better than we are, I think the players want to, and I hope it changes, because i'm waiting for us to show people what we can really do, and I hope that Mancini can get it out of them...

Would I change Manager now? No

Would I change the way we play? Yes

Sometimes it seems like we play 6 defending players and leave 4 to do all the attacking and if something brilliant happens, then that's that, but a well crafted team goal is not something which we have seen too much of, and we don't create that many chances either.

I think if we got a new manager we would see an instant change, because all these players can play attacking, technical football, they just need to be allowed to do it, and get some confidence back....

But I am more in hope that Mancini can change things around, get 2 positive results on the bounce, in which case we will probably go joint second... some may say all is good in the world, but still need to progress our football this season

I have been a CITY fan since 1969 and for me the being a City supporter has always been about playing attacking football not knowing what to expect next not just from the team but also the board and having a laugh basically loving my club. I now think yes i love my club i'm not sure what to expect next from the board (wait till next thursday) but as for the football I am sorry to say under Mancicni IT IS SHITE of the highest level , no PACE in midfield(where it matters) a complete lack of understanding at the back (mainly when teams attack which doesn't help) and 1 up front with no reinforcements back up and a team who to me look like they couldn't give 2 FUCKS and I don't give a shit what Milner or other players have said you don't have to be a BRAIN SURGEON to work out there are problems and they are mainly down to the Managerand as above the 3 rd point I AM NOT HAVING A LAUGH are you?

some of our football at times is great we just don't do it enough.

We seem to be very slow in the build up and yes i would like it to be a bit quicker and more attractive - who wouldn't.

What i take into consideration is that Silva is only just starting to play and the other players need to adjust and get on his wave lengh. Also Ballo / Kolorov are just coming into the team and need some time to adapt. They are also still learning about each other and the way the manager wants to do things.

Anyone who judges Ballo on his first game is an idiot - you only have t go back and look at Henry and drogba in their first season.

I will wait to se what formation Mancini plays when everyone is properly fit. Also most posters say Johnson should be in the team but look at tonight he needs to contribute a bit more and work harder when not in possession
