Boris Johnson

I had the time to watch the debate, and, well, what a strange one it was. Everyone on the opposition benches was roundly calling him a liar and parliament couldn't work properly if ministers, especially the PM, are lying at the despatch box, and that was the generally accepted principle. They all thanked the committee for arriving at their conclusion despite the intimidation and threats from Johnson and his supporters which had resulted in extra security having to be provided to them, but it was made clear to all and sundry the investigation was carried out in an accepted fashion, the findings were true and fair, and it wan't a Kangaroo Court by any measure.

To be fair, there were also a few tory MP's that supported the motion, some of them through gritted teeth admittedly, but then the nutters on the tory side chirped up. The MP for Grimsby demanded proof, to much derision, as there wasn't any in the report, (have a look at the photos), JRM tried to pick holes in the report but he hadn't thought it through and being a bit on the thick side, got his arse shown to him from the MP he was debating with, so he stayed quiet after that, and a couple of others sided with Johnson, but it was a ridiculous sight, in all honesty, watching them defend a well known bullshitter when the weight of Parliament from largely, but not exclusively, both sides of the house accepted we had had a PM that was full of shit and deserved to be kicked out of the place.

Our current PM didn't have the courage or conviction to be there, of course. I'm sure he'll crawl out from his hiding place in a few days time and tell us 'it's time for us to move on, and I'm concentrating on delivering for the British people'.

That message is tired and failing. The tories haven't delivered anything but misery. David Cameron was as full of shit as Johnson at the Covid enquiry when he said austerity was an economic necessity. He wrote in his biography austerity was a political, and not an economic decision, and he gave £23B away in tax cuts to the wealthiest while cutting funding for basic public services. He wrote it in his book, for Christs sake, but it's never questioned.

He went around waving a piece of paper with 'there is no money left' which was a traditional jokey message left by outgoing finance ministers started by Winston Churchill in the 1920's, but as he admitted in his book, it was the perfect excuse be wanted and he exploited it to the hilt.

Is there no end to the bullshit tory MP's and ministers are prepared to give us?

I don't think there is, and the sooner they are wiped out from power, the better.
Bizarrely the MP for Grimsby and Lord Snooty abstained despite their bluster.

as I said last night all his major acolytes did not vote..... kinda sums them up - can't stand losing which is odd as its something a lot of them are going to have to get used to
It’s a bit pathetic for them to think that they can delegitimise the whole process by boycotting the vote. Unfortunately for them over 100 Tory MPs grew a backbone and voted in favour of the report conclusions which made the 225 abstainers look even more ridiculous. No doubt that the rabid party members will do what they can to deselect the 100 for the next election and replace them with UKIP inspired morons leading to further marginalisation of the Conservatives.

I believe the Tory-UKIP wing is completely unaware of how unpopular their 'vision' now is in the country at large.

Their only asset is that younger people often choose not to vote.

If you line up all the groups they have pissed off and are pissing off from the 3 million self employed they ignored to mortgage holders AND renters now and how its going to just get worse with news coming out of other inquiries like the Covid one inflation and Sunak failing on all the 5 measures HE picked and told you they were YOUR priorities I reckon they are fucked tbh
