Boro fan in family stand

I agree Bill but if they read some of the threads on here about how 'bad' our team is, how much rubbish we have to put up with etc., etc., etc., would you want to attend the game? ;-)
good point Sheila. I must say I am backing off a bit until I see an improvement, i'm not paying good money to see us put out a reserve side every week.

Ric, just take comfort in the fact that the gloating smoggie probably woke up this morning and shed a tear that he actually has to live in that hovel.

all joking aside, the appearance of opposition fans in our end is becoming an issue. it used to be now and again and generally they would be respectfull, which in itself i had no problem with but its virtually every game now, and many of them have no idea how to behave. every european game it happens, BMG fans get a dishonorable mention. Everton at home there were loads, boro as discussed in this thread. The barca game the other night there were loads , not even hiding it loads of barca shirts on show, but the ones I came into contact with kept themselves to themselves. The club has a written policy that the home end is the home end and opposition fans will be ejected, but this never happens, have even seen stewards just telling them to cover up their shirts on the way in.
I have considered contacting the club, but have no Idea who to speak to or even if would be worth bringing it up.

How many City when we are away go in the home end

i would have no idea, quite a few I would guess, personally if i go to an away I will go in the away end or not at all. I think my issue is that if Im at a home game I dont see it as unreasonable to expect to be sat with city fans, and where im sat in 142 away fans are in there every virtually every game.

Having been guilty of numerous home end incursions through the 80s 90s and beyond, and infact in some of the more apparently inhospitable places including the Old Den, The Swamp, and several times at Stamford Bridge all unscathed I would suggest a little bit of common sense is all that is required....it doesnt sound like this Boro fan had very much, and frankly from what I read on here deserved a hiding.

At the end of the day its a game of football and by and large visiting supporters in the home area should not be an issue if they and indeed the home supporters simply show a bit of respect for each other.

Funny thing is even back when few games passed without some hostilities taking place, it was easy enough to bump into opposing fans who were more interested in a few beers and a laugh, met some good people from all over the place.
