Contact at least..
Sorry, that was meant for flb's comment. The stockport comment is interesting......
Both. What happens if we get 4th and united finish 5th but win europa? Both get in CL? Or do they take our place?
Should have started them and I suspect he knows it. It would be refreshing to see him take responsibility for his mistakes every now and again.
68% possession but only 4 shots on target. IF we could only convert shots on target into goals eh?
Admittedly Sané is a pest to defences, but he needs a space behind to utilise his pace. Hopefully it will be brighter next season.
That comment by me was admittedly hasty. Our hope is we bottle it a little less in the last few games compared to Arse, Utd and Liverpool and nick top 4No it isn't. We had one game to play last season and it was out of our hands. It is still in our hands this season. Nothing about Pep, nothing about next season.
They are pampered these days but the game is radically different. The pace of the modern day game is so much quicker; the balls and the surfaces. If we had access to the kind of stats we do now I bet it would show the players didn't cover half the distances they do nowadays.different era?...take a look at the "quality" of the pitches back in those days, far more energy sapping than the carpets they play on today...factor in poorer medical support (ask Paul Lake), far tougher tackling/kicking week and things are not so different...todays's players are pampered prima donnas in comparison...
I get that but what more could he possibly learn about his players at this stage of the season away at a team scrapping for their fucking lives ? He gambled today and completely fucked it up- not the time or place to learn about your fucking players away at Middlesbrough- top four is nowhere near guaranteed, he should be battening down the hatches- not fucking experimenting with players that are complete dogshit and are beyond any fucking help.
We are on a downward spiral with 2 wins in 9, not fucking good enough.
Sorry, but to say we got top four with relative ease, then say West Spam were always going to win their last game at Upton Park was always going to invite ridicule, the point being, you make light of the fact it took another team to help us get top four, hardly relative ease :-)Is this where we are now. Calling me a rag. Brilliant!
I don't think he has any choice but to experiment.
Sané Sterling etc have quite clearly been running out of steam recently. Silva Yaya missing.
He chose the wrong team imo but no way can he keep starting the same people. We would end up like the rags, withe everyone breaking down.
People have been asking for Garcia & two upfront. Fair request. Didn't work.
No shame in trying it though.
Sergio will be out for rest of season now so assuming Merlin is fit for next week then the side pretty much picks itself now, at least the midfield and forward line does anyway. With four matches remaining and only one midweek fixture, I'd like to think he can start to put out what he sees as his strongest team for most if not all of them. Assuming he has the slightest idea what his best team is. Surely there's no real need for wholesale changes from here on in?
KDB bloody awful yet again, doesn't help when we are struggling to get players in on goal.

Nah, he's supposed to be our "creator", final ball fucking woeful, continually fails to pick out the correct pass and has no urgency whatsoever. Can't remember the last time I saw him have a decent game.Put a shift in a some brilliant link up play that the forwards didn't take advantage of. Couldn't disagree with you more.
I thought Kev was at the heart of most of our best work today.
