Mahrez should be nowhere near any future penalty and I can’t believe it hasn’t been stamped out by Pep.. it’s almost like he’s earned it, so he takes it. He has what feels like a 1 in 2 record and I expected him to miss tonight. Haaland all day when he’s on the pitch! (I am not confident in your statement thou, if he earns it, he wants to take it and I’m sure they’ll be more misses from him in the future - where do you get the “fact” statement from?).

I don’t reckon Pep will allow him to take any more, it’s obvious Erling is first choice when he’s on the pitch, now it’ll be Gundo or Kev etc if he’s not.

The match reminded me of......

The "Disgrace of Gijón" is the name given to a 1982 FIFA World Cup football match played between West Germany and Austria at the El Molinón stadium in Gijón, Spain, on 25 June 1982. The match was the last game of the first-round Group 2, with Algeria and Chile having played the day before. With the outcome of that match already decided and known, a win by one or two goals for West Germany at the expense of Austria would result in both West Germany and Austria qualifying instead of Algeria, which had defeated West Germany in the first game. The Germans scored the only goal within the first 10 minutes of the match, which progressively deteriorated towards near standstill in the second half.[1] Spectators of the match accused both teams of fixing the outcome, although FIFA ruled that neither team had broken any rules.

To be fair Mahrez won the penalty in the first place but I can't for the life of me understand how he keeps getting to take them?!! I thought he'd miss as I'm sure many others did. I can't recall him scoring one when it really mattered or the game itself was in the balance. Today, Copenhagen, West Ham (to win the title and not take it to the last game of the season), the unforgiveable last minute one at Anfield etc instantly spring to mind.
Not surprised by the hype around Bellingham. He's an English player playing abroad which is quite a novelty in itself. They were all salivating over Sancho not long ago. Have a German mate whose a Dortmund fan and there wasn't the same level of adulation over there for Jadon at the time. Think Jude is a good player already but let the kid develop. Probably in his interests to stay over there for a few more seasons instead of the British press thinking and telling him he's the messiah.

He did score a few crucial ones, against Dortmund two seasons ago to send us to the CL semis, against Arsenal last season at the emirates, also a 90th minute equaliser against Spurs last season (we still lost).

His record is still poor though.

Ederson has never been dropped for a meaningful match in the CL nor PL before.

There have been clamours for “Errorson” to be dropped since the CL final he didn’t play in.

Twitter “City fans” piled on him for no particular reason.

Either you are Pep, or your 15th attempt at telling everybody that Ederson would be dropped has finally come true.

We don’t even know the reasons why there was a change in keeper besides “Ortega had to play”.

I wonder how maby did? Not one city crowd shot. Petty but very deliberate by BT. Every other smbrit team..crowd shots galore acknowleding fan commitment! I know cameras were. On tge City side but even at the end BT couldnt bring themselves to acknowledge travel fans conmitment.. our players were clapping to tge invisible man !!!

Fair enough, but I’ve felt that way for his last 5-6 penalties, yet he continues to take them, when he earns them… I’m flabbergasted it hasn’t been stamped out, hence why I’m not as confident as you are that it won’t happen again.
