Just got home. Not a game that will get stuck in my memory other than the trouble it took to get in the actual section of the stadium (Northstand 61). Another CL match I visit that turned out to be a downer for several reasons within the stadium.

Fortune in the 1st half.
Controlled the 2nd half.

Mahrez was always going to miss that penalty. And I also blame Pep or any of the other players on the pitch to let that happen. Mahrez was not in the game at all, having a pore season overall so far and missed the last penalty he took not too long ago. Anyone else should have had the bravery to keep Mahrez away and take the bloody penalty himself.

Poor game they were on top first half we totally controlled second half. The result is all that matters so a good point. Great couple of days in cologne which is a lovely city but not so impressed with Dortmund itself.

Stayed in Cologne for the World Cup in 2006. Nice place. Dortmund is a bit industrial.

At what point will Pep stop trying to get him back into form? He’s already had a dig about his conditioning, add that to two truly awful performances on Sat and Tues, add that to missing 2 pens in the last week that have cost us Champs league wins, when does he get consigned to “only plays when desperate”?

Mahrez needs to be taken out of the team now for Grealish or Palmer who deserves his chance.

Yep agree. After his initial start he looks well out of his depth. This is going to sound really harsh but he looks like a modern Paul Dickov. Needs to be given time of course but I’m not convinced.

And he didn’t too shabbily in the end did he !

All started when we were awarded the penalty. They started it and it continued for the remainder of the game from both sets of fans

As far as I'm concerned, job done. It's going to be a long, tough season and we don't want to be playing at 100mph all the time. Well done Blues.
