In my opinion, Boateng and silva will only be eased in gradually, they wont play outright from the first PL match.So whether they play in the friendlies doesnt matter much.

I agree about Boateng being eased into the team, but Silva? i expect him to be a regular starter from the opener.

I think it may take him a while to get up to speed but i see him as an early season starter regardless.

Silva will take some time to adjust to the pace of English football i think, and whilst he's still a bit behind from pre-season and getting to know the rest of the team he might start the first 2 or 3 games on the bench, especially if we sign Milner.
