Sule (toe) and Brandt (muscle) didn't travel.
Schlotterbeck was back in training.

Kovac said he wants to stick to defending a bit higher although it gives us space for counters via Erling. But similar to Pep he thinks it's good to keep the opponent far away from the own box.

Hope it works as well as vs B'mouth.

A higher press could be a game for Rico, we'll see.
Too late to change my starting IX in the 'Guess the team' compy...
I’d add a couple more players if I were you !

From the BBC:

Manchester City’s Erling Haaland could become the first player to score in five consecutive UEFA Champions League appearances for as many as three different teams, having previously done so for RB Salzburg (November 2019, five games) and Borussia Dortmund (March 2021, six games). Haaland has netted in his last four outings in the competition for the Citizens, netting six goals in total.

and

Across the first three matchdays of the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League campaign, the two defenders with the most line-breaking passes were Manchester City’s Josko Gvardiol (51) and Borussia Dortmund’s Ramy Bensebaini (47).

and

Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva is looking to score in consecutive UEFA Champions League appearances for the first time since April 2024. An appearance in this game will see him become the fourth Portuguese player to hit 100 games in the competition, after Cristiano Ronaldo (183), Pepe (120) and Luis Figo (103).

The team’s confidence in each other is growing which is most important when up against decent oppos. I am totally positive about the direction of travel. There will be bumps inthe road but we are growing. Two home wins should get us into top 8. The team? I’ll leave that to Pep who seems to know what he’s doing.
3-1 City.

Think we'll win much in the same manner as the Bournemouth game imo. Going for 3-2 City.

1-1 18 mins
2-1 City 35 mins
3-1 53 mins
3-2 87 mins

3-1 City.
To qualify 16 points will likely be required and we are on 7 points, so I think we need 3 home wins (Dortmund, Leverkusen, Galatasaray). Real Madrid and Bodo/Glimt are away and won't be easy.

I was assuming we would smash Real. Bodo lost at home last night I think.

16 points will definitely qualify for the last 24.
Looking more like 13.
