I would say it depends on what side Cancelo plays, as he spends most time in midfield alongside Rodri. If Cancelo plays RB, a right-footed CB is needed to cover, if LB - a left-footed CB. Zin's/Walker's presence is merely a consequence of Cancelo's position (at least in big games, when the strongest 11 is chosen)I think I've seen on Twitter somewhere (Sam Lee?) that Laporte covers Cancelo at LB, whereas Dias doesn't need to worry as much with Zinchenko there.
