Absolutely this, it’ll be a strange one for the players being away in a home leg & 2-0 up, it could get very weird going 1-0 down early, things like that cause massive shifts in momentum, hopefully theres a rendition of Blue moon over the tannoy before kick off to make the boys feel at home, Pep will pack the team with as much European experience as possible & look to win it handsomely
 
Pep will play our strongest side, without a doubt.

Can you even begin to imagine the fallout if he played a so called weakened team in order to rest our best players for Everton in the FA Cup and we ended up getting knocked out of the Champions League because of it?!?
And that isn't just from the Media, who will label him arrogant, serial UCL loser (amongst other things), but from our own board, fans etc?

This is THE competition he and the Club wants to win (as well as the league)...it is the one he always gets questioned about....always gets measured against etc etc.....so he will always go strong, no matter what.

I don't even think going 1 up changes much for us. They need to score at least 2, probably 3...so unless we go 2 or even 3 up, resting players won't enter his thoughts too much.

Hoping for a very comfortable night, but certainly not taking anything for granted...we had a nice away goal cushion a couple years back after beating the scum at their place in the League Cup 1st Leg and basically didn't know how to approach the home second leg and it very nearly cost us dear that night....don't want a repeat of those nerves!!!
 
Over the years I have learned to never underestimate a German team being the underdog in a knock out game. And to always expect something to happen that can be labelled as ‘typical City’.

BMG played a very good game last Friday. Losing that one was totally against the run of play and they shud’ve won 6 or 7-3.

The players better be fully aware of the above and the fact who knocked us out in the CL over the last few years. If so we will go through. For sure.

Youre close but Mahrez will definitely start and I'd be stunned if Walker didn't. They've only had 3 days rest so take Bernado and Cancelo out and I'd say that's your team. I don't think I've ever got a Pep team 100% right in advance but in some ways I think this one mainly picks itself.

As we've got 5 subs I think we can put this to bed early on and then give significant game time to Ake and some kids.
