Bournemouth (A) - FA Cup | Post Match Thread

I would guess he was instructed to keep, the ball and prevent turnovers in possession. Passing not shooting when shooting isn’t his strong point would be his thinking and as we saw the game out probably the right decision.
Exactly this.

The Bournemouth players seemed like a load of snidey cunts for the most part.
Lots of pushes in the back and little digs. Of course the ref didn't see any of that on account he was a blind bastard.

Atwell is, was and always will be a useless twst. Got the penalty right but allowed Bournemouth tons of little fouls that were never punished. Took him way too long to book any of them. Also missed the foul on Haaland that injured him.

On Haaland, wasn’t at his best but at least he scored. I’m convinced that whenever that the longer he takes over a penalty the greater the chance he misses it. Hopefully he won’t be out long and the boot is precautionary.

Good 2nd half and an excellent result away to a decent side Roll on the semi. Would certainly take the Cup over finishing in tte CL places.

Hopefully we can get both.

Best thing I can say about the first half is that I missed 20 minutes of it.
Ironic that the half time substitution changed the game. When it might not have been made if Khusanov had not been harshly booked.
Ffs Jack shoot!!

Everyone who isn’t a City fan had their Sunday evening ruined. But to be fair we should have been two up before Bournemouth scored. I was surprised how poor Bournemouth were in the second half, I hope Erling is OK, not the first to get injured due to the poor off field infrastructure of small grounds.

Last thing we needed was Jack having shots with 6 minutes to go, keep the ball, knock it back and keep it. Jack brings a control to our game that nobody else can.

Ederson poor for their goal, when he's about 60 and having a kick about in his garden with his grandson he'll have exactly the same shot stopping ability as he does right now...and that's not a compliment
Ludicrous to blame Eddie for the goal imo, it was all on Nunes. Gave the ball away with a suicidal pass across the field and then compounded that by being totally switched off for Semenyo behind him

The point about the pen is true for most pen takers - delaying drops the success rate substantially

Poor first half, just the same slow, predictable stuff with one or two moments that we could/should have scored from. Bernardo was either very clever in chipping the ball up or it was another 2 yard pass in the box. That isn’t a dig at Bernardo btw, the guy is a fucking legend. Miles better after the subs in the 2nd half. Haaland was way off it but I hope his injury isn’t going to keep him out.

Well played Marmoush, he never stands still and well played Nico O’Reilly. Glad he got his chance against a good team and was able to do his stuff, even though he wasn’t playing in his position. It’s going to be tough watching him get sold to Chelsea or whoever in summer but I’m hoping that doesn’t happen.

Great result and something to look forward to now. (Even though the semi shouldn’t be at Wembley).
