Bournemouth (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

I know hindsight has 20/20 ,but just wondered ,even though Bournemouth are a decent team, they may have been a bit more cautious if we hadn't been quite so obvious about how knackered and playing though the pain barrier ect. many of the team are. This may have encouraged them to be more ambitious and not park the bus as most usually do,allowing us to play our "normal" game.

The boys in blue didn’t give. They fought to the end. It just wasn’t to be today. Thank you City. Thank you lads. Thank you fans.
Will come back again next time. The season isn’t over.
Never forget, we are Manchester City the best team in the land and all the world.

We will show them all. We will be back strong and proud. :-)
Can we borrow John boy next week please ? ;-)

Isn't this result the reason why it's considered one of the most competitive leagues? Anyone can beat anyone else on a given day.
Yes and why Rodders was a deserved winner of the ballon dor, Real would get beat many a game in this league as their shithousery wouldn't wash and vinny Jr pocketed many a time

Agree with that bit but Pep isn’t going to do that. He just doesn’t trust them enough. It took 3 seasons of dribs and drabs for Foden to get in the side and he was quality. I’m not sure why we have kept McAtee as Pep shows no signs of playing him regularly.
That’s Peps issue then. I know he’s the best in the world and the best I’ve done is play Sunday league football, but I wish he would forget about his trusted players for once and just give a few of the young lads a proper go, instead of one game here and there.

Just a reminder, a lot said on here that the rags are in crisis in 14th. Bournemouth were a point ahead before today’s game. Perspective.

yep, sporting away and brighton will be really tough games ,if we keep playing this way. Our defending needs to improve a lot.
Pep always says we must defend as a team and we aren’t that’s why we are conceding the same type of goal week in week out We loose possession high up the pitch many times through unforced errors, the opposition then sweep the ball fast forward, leaving the old men in MF trailing in their wake We then have either Rico? not a fullback, or Kyle who has lost his mojo, the pace, that always got him out of trouble, compromised. This is bad squad planning,
Pep went down on his bending knees to persuade Kyle to stay instead of taking the Saudi cash and buying a young replacement big mistake and I said it at the time as for me Kyle was showing a decline two seasons ago

There was always the possibility of a Rodri injury not easy to replace him, but there hasnt appeared to be any contingency plan, like buying a player who can play as an 8 or a 6

We brought Gundo back and forgot he’s older and has played a season in a slower league. Has a super-sub he would have been fine but since coming on as sub in his first game back he’s almost played every minute and him and Kovo in MF is a disaster

Pathetic performance today after a poor result midweek.
Doku changed the game but little too late with the substitution

"Games won" is not a stat sheet. You can use your eyes to go and look at the 18 trophies he's won here aswell if it helps.
What on God's green earth does what we've done during Pep's tenure have to do with my comment? As I said, a drop-off is/was inevitable. No one stays on top forever. Not even Pep.
