Bournemouth (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

A defeat that's been coming. Gundo kova bernie can't play in a midfield 3 we have no legs and get run through at will. Looking very old and slow the team now. Pep will find a way and luckily we r in a good position. Experience might just get us over the line this season. But a big freshen up is needed in the summer. 1 positive was the fight we shown from 80-finish just a shame it wasn't there first 80.

Got everything we deserved today, injuries or not there was zero belief in that team that they could get a result , it's as though they used our injury situation as an excuse for a shit performance. We've been lethargic all season, results masking over performances and it's now catching up with us. Can't see things getting any better these next two games tbqh, really poor following on from Spurs away

Agree with much of that but he pointed out post match that
"The players have made an incredible effort because there are players that are not in the best way and they made an incredible effort to be here,
So Manu, Nathan were not in really good conditions. Until the last moment I didn’t know if Nathan could play and he said ‘I want to try, I want to try’.
That’s why after 2-0, we decide to pull him because we need him for next Tuesday in Lisbon. That’s why. It is what it is".
On Walker, he said: “Kyle, 18 or 19 days and only one training session with us and today he was there.
Sometimes there are seasons where this happens more than the other ones. We have to handle it, people come back and sooner or later the team will be back."

It's quite clear 3 of our backline were not 100 % fit in this game. Against a very good Premier league side no team, particularly if they are in our condition, would be able to fully handle the intensity of Bournemouth today. If you're not fully fit it will show.
We have to accept we are in an injury crisis and Pep will have to get us through the next 4- 6 weeks so that hopefully we will still be in top 2-3 position in the League and competing for CL qualifying. All this by mid December. Will he bring in a couple of Academy lads? He may have to.
I think bringing in some academy lads is absolutely the right way to go when there are injuries as stated. We’ve also got some players who aren’t injured and aren’t giving 100% for whatever reason. Bringing in a young g lad might unearth a diamond.

This result been on the cards for a few weeks unfortunately, we have limped through a few close games which we could of ended up losing. All things considered we aren’t doing too badly without the balon dor winner and our most creative player. If erling stabs that in at the end its a good point. Onwards and upwards.

Come on city!!

Absolutely. I looked at Simpson- Pusey the other night and thought is this the lad that could kick start our season just like Bobb did at Newcastle last January? Pep has resources at his disposal for sure but only he knows the timing of such decisions.

Midfield is the major problem, Rodri held that midfield together. Without him there it’s slow and lethargic easy to get past. No energy Gundo he got an assist but he’s not the old Gundo we know, age is showing.

Recruitment for midfield has been disappointing. Kalvin , Nunes , Kova. We lack creativity and energy.

Best striker in the world up front but without Kev no creativity to find him consistently.

If we can sort midfield we walk the league.
I’m shocked that you announced Kova as a bad recruitment in midfield after so many games.

The monumental head loss with people claiming it's actually some huge underlying trend and we need to change everything every time we lose is getting a little embarrassing tbh. Sometimes you just lose.

It's Crazy that you are not allowed to lose anymore, Toys out of the pram, The blame game,

I hate what we are becoming and I never thought in a million years believe what some people on here write after we don't win, Yes it hurts losing a game of football, But think about all the bad years City fans have had and even the fans back then that have never got to see all of this glory because they have passed over,

I know loads of City fans and mates that have passed over that would have died happy seeing us just win the League Cup again, So when you are feeling shit after a loss, THINK about how dam lucky we all are living and witnessing greatness that this club owners players and managers have giving us over the past 15 years,
